THE ABSENCE

After the incident on the bridge,

After she left the spot in a taxi,

She was absent to the tuition,

For nearly two long weeks.

In solitude he roves, lost and alone,

For two long weeks, his love has flown,

Away from him, her absence felt,

A void in his heart, where she dwelt.

The days are long, the nights are cold,

Without her presence, his heart feels old,

He counts the moments, till they meet again,

May all his pain, turn into joy and gain.

For love is patient, love is kind,

It heals all wounds, it soothes the mind,

And though she's absent, he holds on tight,

To the hope that she'll be in his sight.

So, there he waits, with bated breath,

For his love to return, dispel his fret.

For in her arms, he finds his solace,

And in her love, he finds his grace.

He dreams of the moment, they'll be one,

When all their pains, they'll forget and sever,

He will hold her hands and never let go,

His love like a river, that'll forever flow.

Though her absence is a heavy weight,

He knows that his love will always be great,

For distance and time can't quench the fire,

Of the passion and love that they desire.

He waits with hope and faith in his heart,

That soon they'll be one and never be apart,

And in that moment, all of us would see,

Absence, truly makes the heart, fonder and free.

Whatever the consolations we'd say,

His heart beats with fear all day.

He started to fear that he may lose,

The love of his life whom he chose.
