Chapter 30: Marry Me

Danté's car was warm inside, a stark contrast to the blistering cold outside. The heat made a cloudy vapor sit on the inside of the windows.

Danté was quiet since we left the woods. While we were sitting under the tree, my arms stretched out holding my backpack over his head, he had stared at me for a few seconds, and those few seconds felt like forever. In that moment, I didn't care about the cold rain or my freezing body - all I cared about was the deep blue pools in his eyes and the magnetic feeling pulling me towards him. He slowly leaned his face closer to mine, making my breath stop in my throat. I could picture him closing the distance between our lips, our warm rapid breaths mixing. I was surprised to find myself craving it.
