Chapter 59: Whirlwind

I couldn't sleep.

There were too many things running laps in my brain that my mind couldn't shut down for the night at all.

With a sigh, I checked my phone.

3:25 am. No new messages.

I got up and looked looked out my bedroom window to see how Dae was doing, but his car was gone.

It had been replaced by Nick's SUV, parked across the road, near to my apartment window.

They must have swapped out.

Nick was staring towards my window longingly, and when he saw me open the curtain and staring down at him, he quickly looked away. From where I stood I could see the red blotches creeping up on his cheeks.

When I caught his eye, I dropped my curtain and hid behind it - also embarrassed.

I wondered how long he has been staring up at my window with thoughts mulling through his mind.

I grabbed my phone and called him, returning to my position by the window. I opened the curtain and looked down at him again.
