Chapter 73 (Part 3): Danté's POV Continues

When we finally left that building, the men all looked up to see me carrying Princess in my arms.

Rider looked lost, his fingers knotted in his hair.

He must have felt similar feelings as I did, and I felt a tinge of guilt for carrying this girl in my arms when he would have wanted to do so just as desperately.

Luke met us halfway, hands in his pockets. It was weird seeing him after so long, wearing glasses. The last time I saw him, he had a massive fight with his dad, before he disappeared to study abroad.

I think Hannah was still hurt by what he did.

But I had nothing against the guy - we grew up together, and used to get along well. He just didn't want in on the gang activity, and I certainly didn't blame him for it.

When he asked Princess if she was alright, he sounded like a concerned friend. That's when I realized that they might have been friends long before he came back.
