Chapter 78: The Diary

The envelope in my hands grew a little damp where I was holding it.

"You know, kid, it won't open itself," Ken said, sitting on the edge of his seat. He was wringing his hands in anticipation.

Danté stood by the door of Ken's room at the nunnery, his arms folded. He insisted in coming with, using Sister Paula as an excuse. He said that he hadn't seen her in a while, and wanted to visit. It was just funny that he said that once I revealed the fact that I received the results of the DNA test.

I got the feeling that he was just as anxious to know whether Ken and I was related, but I didn't know why that was. Maybe because it would automatically make me one of them - at least by half.

While I was staring at the closed envelope in my hands, I caught Danté's eyes flicker to Nick's supportive hand on my knee. His eyebrows creased slightly, but he quickly hid it, before anyone else noticed.
