Chapter 79: Flying

"We can't just leave them," I begged Danté and Nick. They sat in front in Danté's car, while I sat in the back. "What about Amy? What about the team? I need to save them."

"Honey, you can't save them while you're locked up yourself," Nick said, making sympathetic eye contact with me through the rear view mirror.

"Rider is right." Danté kept his eyes on the road in front of us.

"Charles might not lock me up," I reasoned. "He's still under the impression that I'm his daughter. Locking me up will soil his precious family name."

Danté glanced at me for a millisecond before returning his attention to the front. "He might not lock you up in jail, but he might just lock you up in a room somewhere to get you out of the way, Princess."

He had a point. My father might just actually do that.

"Then what do you propose we do?"

"We can hide you at one of our bases," Nick suggested. "Then you'll be safe from them and The Riot."
