Chapter 2 My Uneventful Past

"Mom, how come I can't live like how Layne Does?" Said the young boy, with a rather thick book in hand.

His mother found the question rather, amusing. His father on the other hand seemed confused. "Layne?" He asked.

"It's the main character of the book he's reading." His mother explained. After hearing this, his father placed his hand on the young boy's shoulder,

"It's just a story Evan, stories are not real."

"Honey… come on he's still young."

"He won't grow well if you keep treating him like one, now go to your room and read things you can actually use in life."

Evan heartbroken from the words of his father, headed into his room still holding onto the book, 'Adventures of Layne Remington' A book filled with fantasy and thrill, a story that can fill your imagination with the most magical things. This time however, Evan no longer felt joy, his tears dropped one by one on the book, he then stomped his way to the box all the way under his bed, he slammed the book inside, not only this, but also the nunerous posters and story books in his room was moxed onto containers and sent under his bed.

The once magical land of wonder of his, now turned, boring.

"Is the boy still sleeping?"

As ny consciousness start to come upon me, I hear a door slowly opening and a couple of steps that followed soon after. For some reason I could sense the presence of two beings near me despite my vision being complete darkness. I wanted to force my eyes open but only ended up with flinching my right hand.

"He moved!" A womanish voice yelled out.

"Can you hear us?"

My eyes felt heavy, I could only squint my eyes from the sudden shine of light. It took me a few moments to finally be able to make out my surroundings.

First thing that met my vision were two elderly couple staring at me, worried.

"Can you hear us?" The woman asked.

I tried to slightly move my head to get a better view of where I was, it was a small room with wooden walls, it didn't have much in it with just a dresser across the room and a side table next to the bed where I was on. After taking in my surroundings my focused turned to the two who were still waiting for my answer.

I wanted to open my mouth and answer a simple, "yes" but the second I tried, not even a single sound could come out of me. A slight hint of panic came upon me which the elderly man immediately noticed.

"He seems to not have the ability to talk…"

The woman who was sat on a wooden chair could only slump down, sighing heavily, "how horrible…"

"Let him rest for a bit, he might still be in shock from what 'happened'"

The man placed his hand on the shoulder of the woman as they then both headed out of the room.

Before closing the door, "Get some rest okay?"

The door shut close as they left the room, I was left alone, confused, and worried. I stared blankly on the wall, thinking carefully of everything that has happened.

I'm pretty sure I jumped in front of that truck to save that white cat, next thing I know after the impact, I wake up here.

From what i've heard those two say a while ago, they sounded like they were very familiar with me.

I was so focused on taking in information from my surroundings a whime ago that I forgot to take a close look at myself.

I brought my palm up to my face to see if anything was different.

and there it was.

I was born quite pale, but not this pale. Even the hair on my arms were pure white. I then touched my face and felt different features that what I usually would have, and lastly, I brushed my hand along my hair.

It's still going?

I thought, I then brought it close to my face and saw pure white hair, with this length it could even reach the floor from how long it was.

What the hell happened?

I gave my everything to sit up from the bed and headed straight to the dresser mirror. Weirdly, I felt wobbly as if my legs were not used to walking on two feet.

I then reached the mirror, all I could is stare blankly at what I was seeing.

Crimson Red Eyes that greatly contrased the paleness of the skin, with the hair seemingly to be glowing from how white it was.

This… is… me?

I brought my palm to my cheek to give myself a slap.

Nothing.

Another time,

still nothing.

I staggered backwards and fell on my bottom, "What the hell…?"

As I was sat down on the cold floor, my head immediately shot towards the door as I could hear voices of the two elderly and a seemingly new guest.
