Chapter 6: Klein entry to the Battlefield

Klein turned his gaze towards the battle location, his face contorted into a frown as he observed the shield-specialized mechas starting to lose formation and wear down from the intense battle.

" Situation is unfavorable for us" he muttered in a low voice.

The battle hadn't been long, not even an hour, but the casualties on their side were already significant.

Several mechas, especially the sword-special mecha and war hammer-specialized mecha, had already fallen, unable to maneuver quickly enough to evade the earth dragon's attacks.

Klein analyzed the situation and realized that if the battle continued for another hour, one by one, the mechas would be taken down due to the exhaustion of energy in their beast core engines.

General Arnold's mecha returned to the fight, wielding its war hammer again.

However, the damage it had sustained was evident in its reduced speed and power, even though it hadn't received a direct hit like the Golden Pride.

The damage his mecha sustained was also a lot added that operating his mecha to attack needed to consume a large amount of beast energy from its engine. Even if the engine of his mecha is derived from the core of Peak Extraordinary Giant Beast, the consumption for its operations is not less.

"Damn it, Beast, just go down already!" Arnold shouted as he swung his mecha hammer hitting the body of a rampaging earth dragon.

General Arnold grew increasingly concerned about their situation, especially since some mechas were unable to fight and others had already been taken down by the Earth Dragon.

Although things seemed manageable for now, they weren't sure how long the Earth Dragon would remain in its berserk state. Each mecha was being pushed to its limits, resulting in a significant consumption of beast core energy.

On the other side, Klein glanced at the cabin of his father's mecha and felt relieved that his father was unharmed. A sudden idea crossed Klein's mind, and a smirk formed on his face.

"I'm sorry, Dad, but the situation is dire. Let me pilot your mecha. Don't worry, I'll take care of it," Chris muttered in a joking tone.

Chris removed his father from the pilot position of the mecha and placed him in a space beside the cabin. He then took a seat in the pilot cabin and ordered Xerxes to analyze the Golden Pride's status.

"Xerxes, give me a general status of the Golden Pride."

With the quick capability of Xerxes, in just a matter of seconds, he was able to receive a reply.

"Replying to Creator, the mecha is currently operating at 70% performance capacity. The left arm is broken, and its durability is near its limit.

The right arm is functional, as are the legs, but the movement speed has been reduced due to minor damage to the beast core engine from a sudden burst in power and attacks from the battle against the Earth Dragon," Xerxes reported.

Klein felt a sense of relief upon hearing Xerxes' report. The mecha's condition wasn't ideal, but it could still fight.

Klein grasped the controls for the mecha's hand and placed his foot on the control for the mecha's feet. The eyes of the Golden Pride lit up, indicating that it was now operational.

"Alright, Klein, don't be nervous. You've already practiced controlling this mecha a hundred times in that space," he encouraged himself.

Unbeknownst to everyone, Klein had already practiced piloting this mecha of his father within the boundless space where Xerxes resided. With Xerxes' assistance and continuous practice in piloting this mecha, he was confident that he could bring out 90% of the mecha's potential in battle.

The Golden Pride's engine emitted a creaking sound, causing Klein to smile. The Golden Pride stood up and turned towards the battle location.

"It's showtime," Klein said, taking control of the Golden Pride and marching at full speed toward the battle area.

"Huh, the City Lord is moving again," a Warhammer mecha pilot noticed and shouted as he saw the Golden Pride approaching.

General Arnold, who was currently positioning his mecha while the mecha was holding its hammer and shield, turned to the location where he had left his Lord Mecha. He was surprised to see a golden mecha running towards them instead of a fallen one. A glimmer of hope appeared in his eyes. "I guess we can take it down before the casualties increase," he said to himself, unable to hide his smile.

"Quick, bring the sword of the Golden Pride and give it to City lord Mecha" he ordered through the communication device to the nearest soldier near the Golden Pride's sword.

The nearest mecha retrieved the sword and rushed away from the Earth Dragon to meet the Golden Pride.

"Roaaar!"

A hoarse roar emanated from the broken mouth of the Earth Dragon as it lifted one of its feet to stomp on a shield mecha nearby.

"Oh no," the shield mecha pilot despaired, realizing his critical position and lack of time to dodge.

Simultaneously, a large hammer struck the foot of the Earth Dragon attempted to stomp the shield-specialized mecha, redirecting its attack.

It was General Arnold's mecha, which had discarded its shield and now wielded the hammer with both hands.

"Quick, stand up and reposition yourself," Arnold ordered the shield mecha pilot, who was still in a daze from the rapid turn of events.

"Alright, sir. Thank you for rescuing me," the pilot gratefully replied into his communication device, his mecha started to move and hold its shield again to reposition itself.

Meanwhile, Klein was nearing the battle location. He spotted the sword mecha running towards him, holding the golden pride sword.

"Sir, I'm here to deliver your weapon," the soldier said through the communication device.

Klein didn't respond and simply reached out to grab the two swords from the mecha's hand. He knew that if he spoke, they would realize that the pilot had changed.

Especially if Arnold recognized his voice, he would lose focus on the battlefield and try to pull him out of the area.

Once Klein had the swords in his possession, he heard Xerxes' notification.

"Analysis of the Earth Dragon is complete," Xerxes announced inside his head.

"Okay, Xerxes, give me a general overview of the opponent and its weaknesses," Klein ordered urgently. He was in a dire situation and needed all the information he could get to take down this Extraordinary Earth-Dragon.

"Replying to Creator, this Extraordinary beast is an Earth Dragon with King Giant Beast Potential. Currently, it stands at a height of 65 meters and weighs an estimated 100 tons. The dragon has tough scales and can release magic breath from its mouth. Its body is currently covered in minor injuries from various attacks, and half of its jaw is missing, rendering it unable to use Earth Dragon Breath. The beast is in a berserk state, allowing it to feel pain and increase its power by 30%. Its weakness is the lower neck, which has lighter scales and is less protected," Xerxes informed.

Klein was surprised by the data provided by Xerxes.

"So it has King Giant Beast Potential, meaning its power and abilities surpass its current size," Klein muttered, realizing the challenge ahead.

Naturally, A King beast's Potential is two levels ahead of an Extraordinary Giant beast, meaning this earth dragon might become a General Giant Beast or even a King Giant beast if it successfully runs away from their siege or destroys their siege.

"Xerxes, give me some suggestions on how to take down this big guy," Klein requested.

"Replying to Creator, currently, the neck is too high to be reached by the mecha sword, and jumping won't provide enough force. I suggest attacking the back of its front knee repeatedly to limit its movement and standing height," Xerxes suggested.

Without further hesitation, Klein focused his attention on the front leg of the mecha.

"It's time to rock and roll, boy," Klein muttered in excitement.
