Jaziel jerked back from her immediately, he stared at the fragile girl on his bed, with his brow furrowed in confusion.
How could it be?
How could she be his mate?
He never thought his mate would turn out to be someone so weak and timid. He turned on the light beside the bed, and stared at her. Her face was soaked in tears. He came down from the bed, and turned his back to her. "Get out." He muttered.
She lift herself slowly from the bed, confused but relieved, she wiped the tears off her face with the back of her hand, and sniffed.
"Did I do something wrong Alpha King?" She asked timidly.
He huffed, didn't she feel the bond between them?
Can't sense that they are fated mates?
Could this be the reason his wolf picked her at the ball?
"I said get out!" He growled and spun around slowly. "Don't ever show your face in front of me again, leave now!" He pointed to the door.
Her body trembled as she picked her dress and slide them on her body. Her head was lowered the entire time, muttering apologies to the Alpha.
He watched her, wondering why she was apologizing when she didn't do anything wrong.
Was it wrong that she was his mate?
Why would the Moon Goddess choose someone like her as his mate?
That's why he was losing his fate to that shitty deity.
"I'm sorry for my carelessness, Alpha King. Forgive your servant."
He planted his hands on his waist. "Who is there!" He barked.
"Alpha King." A guard shouted from the other end of the door.
"Come in here."
The door opened, and the guard stepped into the room. "Take her out of here, and have her locked in her room." He ordered.
"Yes, Alpha." The guard stepped forward, and pulled her by the arm, dragging her out of the room.
He watched her leave, and slowly closed the door behind them.
The door closed, he was left alone in the room, and her scent surrounded him. He ambled toward the window, and opened it, if it could take her scent away from the room.
It didn't help.
He had almost forced himself on her, a girl that was his mate, he had thought he was only gonna use her and have her dumped or killed.
Won't there be a curse on him if he decides to kill his mate.
He shook his head, trying to get rid of those thoughts.
He would watch her for now, and decide what he would do to her, there was no way he would accept her.
He has chosen someone like her just to humiliate the council of Elders but it seems his plan has backfired.
The moon was up there with a glimmering light, there was something about tonight.
Was it his mate?
Why was she all he could think of now? After all the years he searched for her and now she was here in his palace even on his bed.
'Alpha, I saw the girl taken out of your room. Did something happen?' His Beta mind linked him. He came out of his room to the balcony, which was a straight door from his bedroom.
He could see the moon clearly, and his night was probably ruined by her.
'She doesn't fit.' He lied and held the railings.
'What will you tell the Elders? She needs to produce an heir.' He went on.
Jaziel fell silent, and didn't respond. He hadn't thought about that yet but he would find a way.
He needs to think of what to do, the girl doesn't know that he was her mate yet.
He had to come up with a plan.
'I will deal with the Elders and I will give her time.'
'Give her time? Is something wrong Alpha? You would never do that.'
Jaziel exhaled, and took his gaze back to the sky, the sky was beginning to look beautiful. 'Find everything about her. I want to know everything about her background.' He said in a serious tone.
His Beta knew the Alpha meant every one he said, and when he was done speaking, Jaziel closed the mind link.
'Get me a glass of wine.' He mind linked one of the guards that stood outside his door.
'Yes, Alpha King.'
He was served a glass of wine, and he sat there with his gaze fixed on the sky, the little omega that had just left his bed clouded his thoughts.
He sipped from the wine, and exhaled deeply.
Jaziel stayed up all night, and when he went to bed it was already five in the morning.
He could smell her, her scent was still there. He ignored it, and closed his eyes.
Those eyes of hers when she stared at him.
He turned to the other side of the bed, her beautiful body that was covered in scars and bruises.
"Alpha King, I made breakfast." A small voice said from the door. Jaziel pulled himself from the bed, and moved to the door, and opened it.
Surprised to see the young lady that gave him a sleepless night, standing in front of him with her head down.
She was in a servant dress and an apron. "I wanted to make you breakfast, Alpha King."
Jaziel stood there watching her, didn't know if he should let her in or make her leave.
"I'm sorry for last night." She took her lips in, and sighed.
"You want to poison me?" He asked, his eyes darkened.
Startled, she lifted her gaze, stared at him for a brief moment and looked away. "No, I would never do that to you, Alpha." She shook her head vigorously to deny the allegations.
"Then why did you make me breakfast!" He flipped the tray of food off her hand, the coffee spilled on the apron she wore, she dabbed them quickly with her hand to ease herself from the burn.
"I'm sorry." She apologized.
"Guards, take her away, and lock her in the prison! Get the physician, there must be some poison in that food!" He shouted, staring daggers at the girl.
"No, please. I didn't put any poison." Her eyes glistened with tears.
"I warned you that I didn't want to set my eyes on you! How suspicious could you be? Were you sent by an enemy?"
Tears rolled down from her eyes. "No, Alpha King. I thought I could make you something to eat." She whimpered.
"Why?" He asked and made the guard halt.
He waited to hear what she had to say. Instead, she broke down. "I'm sorry."
"Take her away, send for the physician immediately."
