"Mother, have you heard!" Isabelle yelled from the door, running to the kitchen.
"What is it?" Lady Georgia snapped, she glared at her daughter and continued to stir her coffee.
She had that look on her face since the night Isabelle returned home alone without Amira, and told her King had chosen her as his mate.
Unbelievable!
Amira wasn't fit to be beside the King, she could not be above her daughter, Isabelle.
"She's missing. Amira is missing from the palace Mother!" Isabelle pants for breath as she lay against the door of the kitchen.
"She is missing?" Lady Georgia's eyes brightened like a shining light.
"Yes, mother." Isabelle smiled.
"What are you waiting for? Get ready." Lady Georgia exclaimed and clapped her hand, she took a sip from her coffee and did a little victory dance. "Go, this is our chance, Isabelle!"
"Mother, I don't understand." Isabelle furrowed her brow at her mother, she had just informed her that Isabelle was missing. This isn't what she had expected.
"Don't be so dense. Your father is away for a business meeting, he won't be back till tomorrow. This is your chance to go to the palace and claim your position as his chosen mate."
"I'm not Amira, another."
Georgia laughed and placed a hand on her shoulders. "You will be like her."
"What?" Isabelle looked more confused by her mother's words, she didn't understand what she meant that she had to look like Amira.
"Go to her room, take any of Amira's dress that has her smell, bring it, and put them on, and I will take you to the witch."
"Mother, werewolves are forbidden to practice witchcraft. We would be killed by the King if he found out we bewitched him!" Isabelle drawled. "And what if Amira returns?"
"I will make sure she never returns. The throne wasn't her in the first place, it was meant for you. It's only right that my daughter becomes the Luna, Queen of the empire." She downed the coffee and tossed the cup into the sink, she wiped her mouth and smiled at Isabelle.
"Don't you want to be with the King? You're the Beta's daughter of Snowdrop Pack. Our Alpha will adore you and it would set us high above everyone in the pack and our country. Isn't that what I have been grooming you for? Now get dressed and no more questions. We'll meet with the witch."
Isabelle walked out of her Mother's presence, she headed for Amira's room at the servant quarters, she searched through her box for any clothes she could put on that didn't look like rags.
None of her clothes were benefiting for her to wear, she grumbled and cursed under her breath and took any of the clothes that had Amira sent in them.
Isabelle was fully aware of the risk, if the King found out they were deceiving him, they would be killed.
"Isabelle, we cannot waste any more time. We need to leave and get there before midnight!" Lady Georgia shouted, she stood outside the door, dressed in a black gown, and red sandals. She didn't want to dress fashionable when they were about to go on a journey.
She had the thought of visiting a witch ever since but she didn't know what to do, and now the opportunity has lay in her hand. She wasn't going to let it go.
Amira might be coming back home.
Senseless child.
Her mother had come from a gifted family, they all had special powers aside from being a strong and rare lineage of werewolves, Amira never got any of that in her possession and that was why her father's expectations of her died, and she was here to make sure her daughter get everything that Amira deserved.
She had no wolf neither did she have a gift.
It wasn't her fault that her mother was too weak to fight back, and died.
Isabelle deserves to be with the King and she has to make it happen.
"Everyone must have been aware that she's missing, they might want to take her place already so hurry up!" She bangs her fist on the door.
"I'm almost done, Mother." Isabelle groaned from the inside. After moments of waiting, she came out of Amira's room dressed in a torn skirt, and ragged blouse, and an old sandals Amira had.
"Do I smell like her?"
"You stink." Lady Georgia held her nose and walked ahead of her. Isabelle hurried to keep up with her.
"Do you know the implications of what we are about to do, Mother? We are about to deceive the King!" Isabelle raised her voice.
"It's a risk." She added.
"That we have to take or do you rather marry the Alpha's son? That boy has no meaning to his life, and he could easily be killed and taken down from his position as Alpha if he ever becomes one. We must hurry, get in the car."
Lady Georgia hurried to the Mercedes and opened the car door, Isabelle got in, and she shut the door.
"Take us to cave town." She instructed the driver.
"That's where the witches dwell." He cast a swift glance at her and swept the hair dropping to his face off. "Lady Georgia."
"Yes."
"Take us there now and my husband must not be aware of this, it's a secret between us which you'll take to your grave."
"Yes. My Lady." He bowed and ignited the car, smokes came out of the car exhaust, and it roared to life.
The ride was silent, and Isabelle clouded in her thoughts. She has to be positive about this, and how her life will change if the King accepts her. Amira will never get her life back but she was a little scared.
She couldn't let it show in her eyes, her mother would deem it a weakness.
Their journey ended when the car came to a stop at Cave Town, they had to continue their journey on foot.
"Wait till we get back." Lady Georgia orders the Driver, he nods curtly and doesn't get out of the car.
She took her daughter's hand, and they hurried off into the dusty path.
"We must get there in time." Lady Georgia muttered. They walked for about five more minutes and stopped at a house close to the woods.
"I smell wolves." The witch said, her eyes were painted black, her nails were polished with black paint, and she wore a long black gown. In front of her was a book, and a glass of wine.
"Remember a deal with a witch comes with a price. What are you ready to lose to gain?" She smirked, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "But I have nothing to do with wolves. Your King is our enemy." She sipped from her wine, Isabelle and her mother stood at the door, and hadn't been allowed into the house yet.
"I can see what you want. Who is this girl? Her scent is strong, a strong werewolf I perceive."
"The girl you perceive doesn't have a wolf. Ain't you mistaken?" Isabelle scoffed, she was beginning to doubt this, were they right for coming here?
"Your daughter doubts me, I will prove her wrong. Step forward."
Lady Georgia dabbed Isabelle on her back and pushed her forward, this was their chance.
They don't miss another opportunity.
"I will do anything you ask but I want my daughter to have the face of Amira Vahaan my stepdaughter, and her scent."
