LAURA'S POV.

Lots of footsteps approach me and a wide grin forms on my face as I realize I have gotten what I wanted.

"She's here!" I hear someone scream as they all head in my direction.

At this point I'm surrounded by lots of people who are stunned to see I have been stabbed. I know certainly they care less about a maid being injured but within the main quarters simply means their safety is being threatened as well.

"What is going on here?" The voice calls out, amidst the crowd and everywhere goes silent, it's the alpha, the only one I truly need around.

"She was stabbed," another member of the pack answered.

"Who did this to you?" The alpha asks knowing well I'll heal just in time, I might be an omega but I'm still a wolf and that means I'm prone to death from knife cuts or being stabbed.

"Who did this?!" he asks once again, this time yelling out that I become intimidated. At this point, I realized how much of a mistake I had made. How could I have been so foolish to let down my guard and morals just because of a mate who obviously doesn't want me.

"what's going on?" 

I tilt my head in the direction of the voice and it turns out to be Nathan, maybe my plan had worked well after all, but then again he glances in and away from my direction towards his father who doesn't seem to look so pleased to see him.

I've almost reconsidered but seeing how rude he had been just now makes sense. I want to go to extreme lengths. 

"Miss Tara" I call out the name, trying to sound as weak as I can, I feel my wound begin to heal. I can hear silent whispers as well as gasps from the other wolves, she must have been an easy target for me.

I raise my gaze to meet with that of Nathan and he seems to be staring at me, long and hard, I'm guessing I did get his attention after all.

"Why would Tara do anything like that?" the alpha asks, I see Nathan glare at me causing me to have second thoughts, but I'm quick to brush it aside, he should have known.better than to a crew around with me like I'm some toy of his.

"I don't know, she came in late and seemed to be sneaking around, I confronted her about the issue and she attacked me" I answered Alpha Ralph knowing well it would put Nathan in a tight spot but would definitely ruin Tara.

After all, she had brought it upon herself, not only was she dating Lucas, the most wanted undated wolf in the pack, but she had so much as the audacity to come after my mate.

"So you have any idea where she was headed earlier on?" alpha Ralph asks once more, I stare into Nathan's orbs and I can tell he literally pleading with me not to say a word,

However, that doesn't help. matters as it makes me more sick to the core, seeing how he's willing to protect her at all costs.

"she was headed for the young alpha's room before I stopped her" I answer to the alpha before glancing away from Nathan's direction, at this point low whispers had escalated into mumbles and grins, and everyone was pleased to see that she had been caught tooling round, perhaps that would make things worse for her.

But then again, I realize how foolish I had been just now, how on Earth is Nathan to explain why he and his best friend's woman are in the same room late at night.

"fetch her!" Alpha Ralph commands, his gaze seeming to burn intensely at Nathan even when the culprit was little Miss Tara. At this point I bite down on my lips realizing how huge of a mess I had just made. I had been way too jealous that I had not considered his reputation and went ahead splurging out nonsense. 

Soon enough Tara was brought down by the pack guards, wearing Nathan's outfit. I cork my eyebrows and then narrow them into a lot as I face Nathan. He averts his gaze away from mine almost immediately and I can't help but think there is actually more to what he had said.

"Why are you here tara, besides this maid claims you stabbed her is that true?" Alpha Ralph asks Tara who takes a minute to process the whole situation.

She gasps in shock as she realizes what I had claimed that happened, however, if anything at all she is quick to gather herself back in place.

"yes, she's right I had stabbed her by accident, I had not seen her and out of reflex protective instincts I plunged the knife into her sides, I had run up to Nathan as he was the only one that could help me and he offered me a change of dress first, next minute he ran down the stairs and here I am"

Hearing her speak her words with such great rhythm. I had almost gotten fooled myself, if I had not planned the whole thing and pinned the lie on her I would have fallen for her excuses and explanation. 

"I'm guessing it's settled then, everyone back to their rooms, and you Nathan come with me" Alpha Ralph commands, feets withdraws away from the scene with not a single person checking back about my health.

Nathan passes me a look, one I can't picture its meaning, but I know for sure he really is pissed at me.

"why would you do such a thing?" Tara asks, moving closer to me.

"Why are you here?" I ask, cutting her words short.

"You really have grown lots of wings, you are merely a maid, an omega, a nobody," Tara says as she pushes me with her index finger.

"I'm his mate!" I tell out, maybe a little too loud, however, the expression on Tara's face is priceless. 

"it can't be possible…" she stutters, clears her throat and stares even longer at me.

"Why then? Because I'm an omega?" I ask, biting down on my lips mischievously… 

I'll be damned if this spoiled bitch thinks she's way better than I am simply because she was born as an alpha wolf.

"You see, that's not a problem, but it's quite different, Nathan has a mate already."
