Chapter 13: Resting Together

Garnet POV

Garnet tried to compare Jiro’s kisses and caresses to everything she knew. Not to other kisses, because they had been mostly unsatisfying, except for one when she was fourteen. That hungry, curious kiss she shared with a gangly shifter named Myhron couldn’t match the one that held her spellbound right now. Odd … Myhron had been on the slender side and looked less muscular compared to his peers, but Goddess, he could kiss.

Jiro’s kiss blew that fumbling exploration out of the water. It tasted like something from the human world that a traveling merchant sold in the city square. It was called chocolate, and she remembered mentioning to Cyran that if the humans made this, they couldn’t be completely rotten. Surprisingly, he agreed. Chocolate was rich and delicious, and she wanted more of it, but Jiro’s kiss was even more addictive.

Jiro’s lips felt like firm velvet pillows, but even more luxurious and pampering.
