Jiro POV
ONE WEEK LATER
The silver lacy fog cloaked the lake this morning while ducks glided on the surface. The lake had several names, but residents of the city called it Murmuring Lake.
The splashing of the ducks and the fresh scent of the water filled Jiro’s senses. He sat quietly on the shore, his feet in the water after Roslynn Rossa’s morning Movements of the Moon class, which he and Garnet had shown up faithfully to every morning for the last week and claimed their favorite spot in the square. For the first couple of days, if he didn’t crave another cup of the addictive coffee right away, he’d go to the lake. But now, Sarina had figured out his routine, and she brought him a cup by the lake every morning.
He wouldn’t have long to sit enjoying hot coffee and icy lake water. Every day since his arrival as Alpha kept him and Garnet moving from dawn till dusk. He thought about the past week with his Luna and his new pack.
