"I really don't know how persons in manga manages to kill like hundreds of goblins and zombies in a couple hours when the apocalypse just started. I can't do this." I groaned out loud while packing the last of my stuff.
Quickly running in the bathroom, I grabbed my clothes that I washed since it was dirtied by goblin blood. They were still a bit wet but that would be fine. They were folded and tucked into the side of a duffel back to best prevent the rest of the clothes getting wet. Getting the hockey stick that was discarded during the fight, I tore off the bottom giving as it was already broken and gave it to Tanya to use as a walking aid. The goblin's axe was also taken up as we lack the means to defend ourselves to just leave it here.
With everything ready and a quick last scan of the room, we went through the broken door half prepared for what's out there for us to face (well mostly me as Tanya isn't healed enough to do anything). Walking through the hall as silently and admittedly slowly due to Tanya's injury, Dave and I fought any goblins we came across while also encouraging Tanya to also kill and level up, by incapacitating some and letting her stab them effectively giving her the final kill.
By the time we reached the end of the hallway Dave and I managed to kill about fifteen (15) goblins and Tanya killed six (6). At the double glass door that separates us from the lobby and the outside, there stood a six foot something, dark green monster. In its hands were a human body and a giant axe. 'Using what I know from video games, I'd say that's not a troll which is a good thing. Maybe it's a hobgoblin, it might not be but that's what I'm gonna go with right now.'
Snapping out of a trance when I felt my clothes being pulled on, I looked back to see Tanya grabbing at me while still staring at the hobgoblin. Slowly she started stepping back and I did the same while watching the hobgoblin just in case it notices us. "Go find a good room!" I whisper-shouted at Tanya while opening the door nearest to me. Unfortunately, it took us going through five different rooms to find one suitable enough for us. The ones that didn't have dead bodies inside had broken windows or were locked. Must be the other survivors in there. The rooms with broken windows would have been fine if not for the fact that we are unsure if there's any flying type of monsters that can easily enter. Taking one last look at the hobgoblin, I noted its position and followed Tanya inside the room.
