Mia Moreland overturned her words at the end and fell back onto the bed. She murmured softly, "Since he doesn't like me, why should I go out of my way for him."
Amelia Clarke didn't hear what she said and asked, "What did you say?"
Mia Moreland reached out, grabbed a cartoon plush dog, and covered her face with it, her voice muffled, "Nothing."
Suddenly thinking of something, Mia Moreland bounced up. "School starts tomorrow, and they'll announce the grades; I'm so nervous. I wonder if these hands and the steering wheel of a Lamborghini are destined to meet."
Speaking of grades, Amelia Clarke remembered Mia Moreland's confidence on the eve of the final exams. She laughed, "Weren't you full of confidence before the holiday? Why have you lost it over a summer vacation?"
"I did have it, but then I thought about having you as the top student, and I lost all confidence," Mia Moreland said, her expression downtrodden as she stroked the plush dog's head.
