At ten o'clock in the evening, Owen Moreland took Amelia Clarke back home.
Madam Moreland wanted the couple to stay overnight at the old house, but Owen casually found an excuse to brush it off.
Amelia and Owen left by car, and Benjamin Moreland also drove away from the old house.
The car was driven by Mr. Clark.
When the car stopped in front of the gate of South Hill Villa No. 8, Amelia had been contemplating the conversation between Madam Moreland and Emily Yorke the whole way and didn't realize they had arrived.
"Amelia," Owen called out to her.
Amelia snapped back to reality, noticing the villa's gate. She smiled slightly and stretched her hand to push the car door open, "We've arrived, huh."
After the two entered the villa gate, Mr. Clark drove the car away.
The rain had stopped, and the air was filled with the fresh scent of post-rain coolness; a breeze came by and caused a trail of goosebumps on Amelia's bare arms, which she touched with her hand.
