It’s the year 2073, and everything has changed. New high-tech dominates almost all aspects of life. However, this has a dark side: unethical human experiments.
  17-year-old Akira Cruz, the genius nephew of the president of the Philippines, was in the middle of grieving for his late best friend when he stumbled upon an abandoned orphan boy in the mountains while on a hike with his younger sister. That boy is Hachi Shimizu, a half-zombie, half-vampire who was disposed of by an evil organization known as the Kara Tech, which was notorious for its brutal and unethical experiments.
  Together, the two boys team up with a detective named Toshi Kawasaki, a half-Japanese, half-British who specializes in the supernatural and also considers the murder case of Akira’s best friend open despite the police closing it due to a lack of evidence. The three of them believed that Kara Tech was somehow connected to the disappearances of various children in and around the Tokyo Metropolitan Area. As they go and solve cases, their friendship blossoms, especially when two people,  Riho Yoshihara, Akira's childhood, biracial friend, and Htet Kawa, a half-Japanese, half-Burmese junior detective from Yokohama, come along in their various missions, both involving the supernatural and the overworld. Will they stop the organization from committing more heinous crimes before it’s too late?

My Best Friend is a Hybrid

Later at night, at 6:14 p.m., Akira was resting in his room at Toshi's house when someone was calling in his laptop. It was Daniel Cruz, Akira's paternal uncle and current president of the Philippines. The laptop was turned on so the call had happened. Upon hearing that, he got up and answered the call, before sitting down on his wooden chair. The screen shows a video chat, and Daniel appears towards him.

"Hello there, Akira," he greeted.

"Hi there, tito," Akira replied back positively.

"I'm fine, thank you. How's work?"

"Very good as usual. Anyway, I heard from your father that you and your new adoptive brother got jobs at a detective agency. Is that true?"

"Also, is it true there's a bombing at your workplace?"

"Are you and your friend and coworkers okay?"

"I just grabbed that bag and tossed it into the truck of the bombers."

His uncle was stunned at his stupid, yet clever solution. "That was dangerous. You shouldn't do that."

"Um, it's because the bomb will go off before the bomb squad arrives."

To that Akira explained to him how did he got it.

Moments later, Daniel was impressed by his cleverness. "You're very clever, Akira.

Akira then smiled while being complimented.

After that, Daniel continued on, "Well, it seems that both of you had found your future careers, or was it?" Then, Akira stammered, "N-Not really, tito. It's for our revenge only."

"Oh really?" Daniel replied back. "For the death of your best friend?"

"Yes, and I'm still not sure what I want to do after high school."

"How about using your intelligence for something good and noble? That will enhance your capability."

"Sure, that would beneficial."

"Okay then, I need to wake up tomorrow early morning for a meeting. Good luck on at work, okay?"

Akira and Daniel then ended their conversation.
