It’s the year 2073, and everything has changed. New high-tech dominates almost all aspects of life. However, this has a dark side: unethical human experiments.
  17-year-old Akira Cruz, the genius nephew of the president of the Philippines, was in the middle of grieving for his late best friend when he stumbled upon an abandoned orphan boy in the mountains while on a hike with his younger sister. That boy is Hachi Shimizu, a half-zombie, half-vampire who was disposed of by an evil organization known as the Kara Tech, which was notorious for its brutal and unethical experiments.
  Together, the two boys team up with a detective named Toshi Kawasaki, a half-Japanese, half-British who specializes in the supernatural and also considers the murder case of Akira’s best friend open despite the police closing it due to a lack of evidence. The three of them believed that Kara Tech was somehow connected to the disappearances of various children in and around the Tokyo Metropolitan Area. As they go and solve cases, their friendship blossoms, especially when two people,  Riho Yoshihara, Akira's childhood, biracial friend, and Htet Kawa, a half-Japanese, half-Burmese junior detective from Yokohama, come along in their various missions, both involving the supernatural and the overworld. Will they stop the organization from committing more heinous crimes before it’s too late?

My Best Friend is a Hybrid

Akira and the others, except for Hachi, in his group, were shocked at what Kei just said. "What?" Akira responded back. Riho then added, "That was unexpected…"

Kei then nodded. "Yes, and don't worry, I'll help out for you guys to stay out of big brother's clutches."

Akira was a bit skeptical, but Hachi persuaded him to trust Kei.

And so, Akira said to Kei, "Okay then. What can you help with?" Kei then leaned towards Akira's left ear and said in a low voice, "I'll keep track of big brother's movements on you and Hachi. And if he messes with you guys, I'll report the bad stuff to the principal." Akira then nodded in agreement. "Okay, thanks."

After that, Kei went to Isao and Ese and rode the family car with them, leaving the scene. And so, for a few more days, Isao had been harassing Hachi and Akira a lot, from inside the classroom to while in PE class. But Kei had been assigning Ese to spy on Isao and record and take notes of his bad behavior. And then, Isao began to blackmail Akira, Riho, and Aiko with threatening text messages, but Akira and the other two ignored them as spam messages.

But then, one Monday afternoon, Isao took Hachi to the school's empty auditorium to do something with him. But it was an act of deception because the purpose was to do a little, "harmless" experiment on Hachi. While Hachi was unaware of what was happening, Isao pulled out some small syringes of suspicious liquids from his backpack and tackled Hachi to the floor.

"Hey! What the…?" Hachi responded to this.

"Hehe…" Isao chuckled darkly. "Time for fun time…"

That scared the life out of Hachi, and Hachi was horrified, thinking, "I knew it! This guy was still the same as before!"

But then, before the needle would even touch Hachi's skin, Akira, Riho, and Aiko, alongside a few classmates, caught Isao in the act. "Hey, you!" Akira said to Isao. Isao and Hachi heard that and looked at him and the others. "What the hell?" Isao responded to this in shock and some upset anger.

"Akira-kun!" Hachi said to Akira.

Isao's acts and recent bad behavior had been exposed.
