Chapter 54 - Kei Akamine

Hachi's POV

I am sure that my friends will protect me from Isao-san, my frenemy. Later, after our last class was over, I was outside the school, waiting for Akira and the others to come and walk with me towards home, when…

"Hey, Hachi-kun!" a familiar voice called my name, startling me.

Of course, it was Isao, my enemy and frenemy, and I was quite irritated by his presence.

Wrapping his arm around me, Isao replied back with an innocent smile, "How are you? It's been a while now?"

"I'm…fine," I replied back slowly and with some anxiety, waiting for Akira and his friends to come out and protect me…

"Ha! You're docile as usual, aren't you?"

 "Shut up…"

"Come on, man, that's not fair!"

 "Heck no! Get off me!"

Isao then grabbed me and was about to bully and beat me up when Akira and some of his friends came and stopped him.

"What the hell?" Isao was upset by their presence.

"What are you doing to him, Isao-kun?" Akira asked him upsettingly.

"Yeah, you better back off, stupid!" Riho added strongly.

"I was just having fun with him!" Isao reasoned while letting go of me.

"We know what you did to him, Isao," Akira replied briefly and with bravery.

Isao's face turned pale. "What?"

Isao then turned to me. "What did you do?!"

"I told them, of course," replied I with an uncaring and carefree look on my face while rolling my eyes.

Isao felt betrayed by me and became angry at me. "You little dog!"

But Akira blocked his view on me and said to him back, "You better shut up, Isao-kun, Hachi-kun is trying to recover from his trauma of you being so mean and everything!"

Isao could not do anything about it and just left off and stormed off towards the school entrance gate while mumbling. After that, Akira asked me if I got hurt by him. "No," I replied back calmly, "thanks for saving me."

Akira then smiled at me. "Yup! Anytime, kapatid."

"We're a team!" Aiko added happily as well.

And so, with that, we started walking home together as friends. But along the way to Riho's house, we saw something: Isao was talking to an elderly man, who was dressed in butler's attire, in front of a house with the Akamine family car. That butler… was Esa Solomon, a Finnish-Romanian from Romania!

"What Isao-kun was talking to that old man?" Akira asked while we were watching their chit-chat.

And then, someone from behind the family car and out of Isao's sight, a middle schooler, who had brown hair and green eyes and was, if my memories are correct, insecure and kind, was beckoning his hand at us. Of course! That boy was Kei Akamine, the younger son of Wao Akamine, the CEO of Kara Tech!

 "Kei-kun…?" I asked in response.

"Huh? You know that kid?" Aiko replied back.

"That's Kei, Isao's younger brother, and it seemed that he had something for me…"

And so, we went to him and hid behind that family car. "What is it, Kei-kun?" Akira asked Kei. "You must be Akira Cruz, right?" Kei asked him slowly and in a low voice.

"Yes, how did you know that?"

"The current president of the Philippines had a nephew who was half-Japanese, so it was you, right?"

"Yes, he was" I responded back positively, "and Akira-kun and his family are now my family."

Kei was surprised and was happy for me. "Wow, nice one, Hachi-kun!"

But his face turned concerned, and Kei added, "Anyways, we managed to find your school, and…here's the latest info we have from Big Brother and Father…"

He then pulled some papers, which were folded neatly without leaving some traces of its contents, and gave it to us.

Akira grabbed them and carefully unfolded some of the papers, taking a look at its contents.

We then read them.

As we did so, Kei said directly to Akira and the others, "Akira-kun, I am unlike my older brother and father; in fact, I am opposed to their ideals and plans."
