Anita?

"And... how do you intend to do that"?

Mrs O'Brien asked as she looked at Melissa calmly.

"If we are being honest, we both know that I am better than her in so many ways. With my influence and positive status, I can make your son even more known and we both know how good that is for his business".

While Melissa was talking, Mrs O'Brien's brow was already raised as she was feeling pretty irritated already.

Mrs O'Brien was a calm and nice woman but she was definitely not one to be looked down upon.

"Why do you keep saying 'your son'? It almost feels like you are trying to imply something".

Melissa chuckled nervously. She didn't expect Mrs O'Brien to be this hard to crack. The funny thing is she didn't even know what the woman was thinking so she didn't know what to say to please her.

"Ha... what... I don't think I get what you are saying moth..."

"I'm not your mother".

Mrs O'Brien said with a clear and calm voice.

"Listen to me Miss Melissa, if you think I'll be pleased that you love MY SON so much that you can't stop telling me he's my son... Huh! I think you just lost your chance".

Mrs O'Brien stood up, ready to leave when Melissa stood up and tried to stop her.

"That's not what I meant mother, I just..."

"Not another word"!!

This time around, Mrs O'Brien said, and this time around, she said it in a firm and finalizing voice.

"You know what? You can never... be as good as Nadia".

Mrs O'Brien said and walked out while everyone in the restaurant kept looking at Melissa.

Melissa was even more pissed now. The old woman just said that good for nothing is better than she could ever be.

She has lost the opportunity to be with the old woman and how she would renew herself, she had no idea.

She went back home and when she got home, she saw Anita singing joyfully. Just that, made her more angry and she decided to pour it all on Anita.

Luckily for Melissa, she saw her mother and father walking in and she went in front of Anita.

When Anita noticed how evil she looked, she abruptly stood up and when she did, she noticed an evil chuckle on Melissa's face.

Anita raised a brow as she could not understand why her sister was smiling and just like that, Melissa yelled and fell to the ground, holding her cheek as though someone had slapped her.

"My goodness, Anita Blake!!! What do you think you are doing"?

Her mom yelled as she kept looking at them puzzled. She wanted to explain herself but before she could, her father gave her a resounding slap.

She wasn't even surprised anymore. She turned to look at Melissa and saw that she was actually crying.

"Get out... Get out right now!!"

Her dad yelled and without saying another word, she went upstairs, packed her bags, and began walking out. Her mom tried to call her back but her dad immediately yelled to shut her up.

Anita left for a hotel without looking back.

Grandpa was finally awake and I was happy for him.

A few days went by and since I was still taking care of Grandpa here in Los Angeles, Jason and I kept talking through the phone.

We kept talking and got to know each other even more, every single time we spoke.

Grandpa kept getting stronger and I never got tired of taking care of him. Truthfully, he was indeed a very disciplined man but he was still really nice and fun to be with.

Grandpa was resting on his hospital bed while I was peeling some apples for him.

"I'm very sure you are tired of taking care of an old man like me".

He said abruptly, making me look at him.

"Huh"?

I asked cautiously. I didn't think he'd feel that way as I do not believe I've ever shown any sign of discomfort or dissatisfaction.

"Haha, no, you have not misbehaved in any way. I'm just saying that because I know you miss Jason".

My mouth opened in an o shape as I finally got what he meant and then, I smiled.

"I do miss him Grandpa but I also enjoy talking to you and taking care of you. It's not tiring at all".

I tried to reassure him and I saw a smile on his face. We were talking about minor things when my phone suddenly rang.

"Anita"?

I said as soon as I picked up the call.

"Hey, Nadia".

She replied and I could tell she was trying hard to sound like nothing was wrong when something was obviously wrong.

"What's wrong"?

I asked and she began to cry. I tried calming her down but it felt like my telling her to calm down only made her cry more so without saying a word, I let her cry all she wanted.

I let her cry for as long as she wanted and after about ten minutes, she finally calmed down a little bit. At this point, Grandpa had told me to put it on speaker so I could continue my peeling.

"I'm... I'm so... I'm really sorry, I shouldn't be like this".

She said

"You shouldn't apologize for being in pain, it is those who put you in pain that should be sorry".

I said and I heard her chuckle painfully.

"I need your help, Nadia".

She said. I wanted to remove it from the speaker but Grandpa looked like he also wanted to know what was going on so I left the phone on speaker.

It was only natural for him to be interested in the prime minister's family since they also brought a marriage proposal.

Also, if there's one thing I've learned about Grandpa, it's the fact that he loves a good gist.

"What's wrong"?

I asked and she began to tell me everything that had happened with her family.

"Now, my dad has frozen all my credit cards and has instructed that I should not be allowed to stay in the family hotel".
