it's time we met

"Now, my dad has frozen all my credit cards and has instructed that I should not be allowed to stay in the family hotel".

I could tell that her sister Melissa was a white lotus but never would I have imagined that she could be this bad.

"Calm down Anita, do you have any place to stay? Probably a friend or something"?

She was silent for a while before she spoke again.

"I don't have friends. You are the only person I could think of calling. I know this might be too much but I really need a place to stay".

She said honestly. I wanted to help her, I really did want to help but there was nothing I could do. I didn't have any money and I could not tell her to go stay in Jason's house when it wasn't my place.

I didn't know what to tell her aside from the fact that there was nothing I could do.

"Tell her to go to our hotel instead".

I suddenly heard Grandpa say. I looked at him surprised that he had actually intervened.

"Huh? Ohh... Okay".

I said and then went ahead to tell Anita.

"Gran..."

I was about to talk when Grandpa shut me up. I looked at him with confusion written all over my face.

"Don't tell her it's me".

He said still in a voice that Anita could not hear and my mouth opened in an o shape. I finally understood why he was trying to shush me and also speaking quietly himself. He didn't want Anita to know that he knew about her predicament.

"Hello? Nadia, are you there"?

Anita called out, drawing my attention back.

"Oh I'm so sorry. Ehm, you can go to the Royal Haven Hotel, I'll make sure someone is waiting to serve you".

Anita looked a bit surprised as she remained speechless for a while.

"Are... are... are you sure"?

She asked and I gave a Mnn sign.

"Thank you, thank you so much, Nadia, I'm really grateful".

The call soon ended and Anita went to the hotel. Grandpa had called someone and instructed that Anita be taken care of and be treated like a VIP.

Anita was eating in her room as she was so hungry and hadn't eaten anything since morning. She was about to take another bite out of the pizza she asked for when her phone rang. When she looked to see who it was, she decided not to pick but he kept calling that she couldn't ignore it anymore.

"What do you want"?

She asked in a rather calm voice.

"Who are you staying with? I know you to be a nuisance but not a slut!! If you don't come back home this instant, don't even think of coming back ever!!"

Anita scoffed at the shouting man and said.

"Works fine by me".

She said and immediately ended the call. She wasn't sure about how long it would take before she would be asked to leave this place but she had promised herself that she'd never go back to him ever again.

Mr Blake looked at the phone which was now disconnected.

"She cut the call on me. Ha!! Can you imagine? She cut the call on me".

"What did she say"?

Her mom asked her father. She looked a bit worried as she desperately wanted to know the whereabouts of her daughter.

"She said I can do whatever I want. She is definitely the black sheep".

He said in anger but then, he heard his wife yell.

"Oh for goodness sake would you stop saying that!!"

Mrs Blake said which made her husband turn to look at her in shock.

"You startled me. Why did you scream like that"?

He asked but this time around, in a calm voice. If there was any weakness Mr Blake had, it would be his wife.

Mrs Blake looked at her husband with a face that was asking 'are you really asking me that'.

"Are you being real right now"?

She asked in a disbelieving voice and then she stood up from the bed she was sitting on.

"All this... wouldn't have happened if you had just listened to her, if you had just given her a chance to explain when she wanted to".

Mr Blake was surprised because he hardly saw his wife this agitated. She didn't complain whenever he scolded Anita so he didn't understand why she was being like this now.

"Listen, babe, I was only trying to make her respect her sister better".

"Oh please!! I know I shouldn't be saying this but you've always taken Melissa's side. You know... That Anita was always a good girl".

"Yes, that's until she pushed her sister off a building out of jealousy".

"She said she didn't. For once..."

She sighed and continued.

"For once... can't we just give her a chance to explain"?

Mr Blake moved closer to his wife.

"What's wrong with you babe? You didn't argue with me when I cautioned her before".

"That's because... it's because she didn't look weak. I felt Melissa needed us more than she did. I felt she was much stronger but looking at her lately, I could see that she's broken, empty, helpless and she needs us. She needs us, babe".

Mr Blake moved closer to his wife and hugged her tightly.

"I'll find her babe, I promise".

Mr Blake loved his daughter and it was safe to say he loved them that much because of how much he loves his wife.

Melissa was by the door, listening to absolutely everything they were saying. She was boiling with anger as she listened to their conversation. She knew that her mother had always had a soft spot for her sister and that always got to her.

She angrily went back to her room but surprisingly, she did not do anything and just lay on her bed.

I went back to Grandpa's house to freshen up and rest a little before going back to the hospital to give him dinner.

I had just finished showering when I got a call. I was a bit disappointed because it wasn't the call I had been waiting for. As a matter of fact, it wasn't a number I really knew. I recognized the number, it was the number that called me a few days back but I didn't know who it was.

"Hello"?

I said as I answered the call.

"I think it's time we met".
