Clear your desk

"I'll work with three of you for three months. The best will keep the position".

I said and everyone in the room looked puzzled.

"But... How"?

One of the women asked.

"Of course, I can't have three secretaries so this is how it'll play out".

The three of them looked at me and tried to listen attentively.

"Li Sa-ra, you'll be my personal advisor and bodyguard".

She nodded showing that she accepted it.

"Tin Foley will be my secretary, fix all my meetings, and make sure my schedules are ready and we'll informed. Of course, there are more things for you to do but you'll learn in time".

She kept nodding like a woodpecker.

"Anita Blake will be my personal assistant. You'll travel with me and work overtime. Whenever I need you to and you'll do more things with time".

She also nodded.

"After working with three of you for three months, I'll pick my best and the best of all three will take the position of all three and also their salary".

Tin Foley gasped as soon as she heard that. If she wins, it means she'll be making times three of what she's earning right now.

None of them wanted to throw away this opportunity, not even the prime minister's daughter. Even Li Sa-ra who looked emotionless could not help but widen her eyes when she heard what the Boss had said.

"Well, if you all agree, I believe I'm done here".

I said and began walking out while they stood up to bow but then I paused.

"Remember, I won't tolerate any mistakes. You might get fired before your three months are over so work as hard as you can if you want to remain here".

I said and they all shouted.

"Yes, boss".

I smiled lightly and walked out.

The people who interviewed with me also walked out right after me and the three girls bowed again.

After Nadia was done, someone came and told the three girls to follow him for the final processing.

I was on my way back to my floor when both men who were with me in the interview room came over to meet me.

"Hello, ma'am".

They called out making me turn back. I said nothing but I had a slight smile on my face.

"I am Mister Marshall the head of the production department and this is Mr Matins, the head of the delivery department".

I already knew who they were as I had read about them on my way to the office.

I knew they did not just come to introduce themselves so I waited for them to proceed.

The men were expecting her to acknowledge them but it didn't seem like she was ready to do anything like that as she just kept looking at them.

"Uhh... well, we were just worried about you".

Mr Marshall said, making me tilt my head to the side a little.

"You don't need all three of them. If you leave it to me, I'll make sure to pick the best one for you".

I laughed gently as I bent my head. I already knew they were here to either get on my good side or they wanted to see if I was easy to control. You know? Like a puppet.

I'm sure people were already digging into it and finding out that I am dating Jason. They'll obviously insist I'm not good enough for my position.

I looked back up at him and moving closer, I asked.

"Are you doubting my judgment"?

I asked and he looked at Mr Matins and back at me. He then laughed nervously and said.

"Ohh of course not. I was just worried about you. We can't make any silly mistakes and ruin a company that's just starting".

He said and now, their intentions were clear.

"Are you sure you can do your job properly"?

I asked and it seems it came as a surprise seeing how he began to stutter.

"Wha... wha... of course..."

I sighed heavily and said.

"Listen to me Mr... there is only one boss around here... Me".

I said as a matter of finality. I was going to do whatever I could to make this company more than successful but I would never stand and allow people like them to insult me ever again.

"You should either know your place or... clear your desk".

I saw him swallow unknowingly and I smiled with one side of my lips. Without saying anything else, I turned around and began walking away.

The chairman already assigned two men to be my bodyguards but I already made up my mind that Li Sa-ra would be my personal bodyguard.

There was something special about her and I wanted to know if it would favor me or not.

Lawyer Patrick came in and bowed lightly.

"It's time for you to meet the board members".

I smiled and said.

"What do I do? I'm making you do the work of my secretary".

He smiled and replied.

"It's fine, it's just for today anyways. I just need you to adjust well and I'll be back to being a lawyer".

I smiled and thanked him.

We got to the conference room where the meeting was taking place. It was on the same floor as my office so I didn't have to travel far.

One of my bodyguards opened the door and as soon as I walked in, the people in the room stood up to greet me. All except one woman.

I knew who she was. She was Mrs Sky, she was married to a business tycoon who had one of the biggest restaurants in the country. Her husband was an accomplished man so of course, she was a proud one.

But just like her, all of my board members are people with huge influence and a deep pocket. All thanks to Grandpa.

I decided not to make a fuss about it. When everyone was seated, I spoke.

"Let's begin".

This meeting was basically for them to get to know the president of the company which was me.

"I see the chairman's vision is becoming pretty blurry".

Mrs Sky said and I just looked at her as I played with my pen.

"Well, I mean... why would he want to invest in a child"?

She said and some people seemed to concur. I was the largest shareholder and after me, it was Grandpa.

Well technically, he made me the largest shareholder.

On the other hand, this woman who kept running her mouth was the seventh person with the largest shares. And I had twelve people on my board right now.

The woman was waiting for Nadia to get worked out.

"What exactly is your question ma'am"?
