Nadia... Melissa

"Rumors have it that you are the new bride for the chairman of the O'Brien's company. Is that true"?

I looked at her for a very long time but there was no expression on my face.

The reporters were taking pictures and having a blast till they heard Nadia laugh.

I couldn't help it anymore so I began laughing. I laughed really hard as it was the most ridiculous question I've ever heard in my entire life.

Nadia was laughing but before anyone could explain what was going on, she had a really cold look on her face. She was looking at the reporters like annoying ants. Now, all the respect she wanted to give them had flown out of the window.

"Before we continue, let me remind you all that I can sue you for defamation. Being a reporter does not make you an exemption. I'd honestly advise you to choose your next question wisely".

Nadia said and the reporters kept looking at each other. Some even gulped down on their saliva.

Before coming here, they had planned on making her have a very ugly reputation. Having a questionable reputation from the beginning is always very hard to clean.

Some of them were paid to ask wicked and unpleasant questions but before they could even go far, Nadia had shit them up.

After that one question, the press conference went on smoothly as the only asked questions relating to Gallery.

Chairman O'Brien was watching Nadia's press conference with a smile on his face. He could not be more pleased with her answer.

She did not say she did not know him but at the same time, she made it clear that what they were thinking was just baseless.

It was already 3 pm and Nadia was truly stressed out as she collapsed on the sofa in her office and gave a heavy sigh.

She knew she still had so much to do but she was only still getting used to this. She has never been a boss before.

"Ahh!! I'm tired".

I said and just then, my tummy made a rumbling sound and that was when I remembered that I had not eaten anything throughout the day.

I looked at my tummy and looked back up to the ceiling.

"Haa!! Being a boss is definitely not easy".

I said to myself. I was definitely hungry but yet, I was too tired to go get something to eat. In fact, I did not want to stand up from where I was sitting.

I was beginning to doze off when I heard a knock on the door. I immediately sat properly and whoever it was, walked in.

"Lawyer Patrick! I was not expecting you today".

I said with a gentle smile. He also smiled lightly as he bowed politely.

"I hope you are fine ma'am".

He said.

"Oh please, you don't have to be so formal".

He was Grandpa O'Brien's trusted man and he was definitely much older than me. To sum it up, I kind of liked him so I didn't want him to be too distant.

"Please, sit".

I said.

"I'm sorry to intrude".

He said and I shook my head just then, my tummy rumbled again. We both had the same amount of shock on our faces but after a few seconds, we laughed it out.

"I'm assuming you have not had anything to eat".

I nodded my head while placing one of my hands on my tummy.

"How about we grab something while we talk"?

He asked and I smiled as I nodded. I picked up my purse and we were soon on our way out, with Li Sa-ra behind us.

"You look stunning miss president".

He said jokingly as we walked and I smiled at his remark.

"You are flattering me lawyer Patrick".

The atmosphere between the both of us was nice and comfortable. I could say it felt like he was a father figure as he kind of acted like one.

We got to a restaurant not too far from the office and ordered something quite quickly. I ordered a simple meal while he just asked for something to drink.

When I was done eating, I asked for a calming tea.

"I know you did not come to eat with me, so tell me, what brings you here"?

I asked and seeing as he cleared his throat, I knew I was right.

"Miss Nadia, I think you should move to your place today".

He said and I gave him a confusing look.

"What's wrong? I thought we already agreed I'd move by the weekend".

I knew something was wrong and that was why he was trying so hard to make me move sooner than planned.

"I know that we agreed on that but I'm sure you have noticed from your press conference that a lot of people are more than ready to find faults and bring you down".

I could already understand his worries.

"You can live with him when you get married but for now, it's best you moved out. It's for your own good and the good of your company".

I sighed and nodded my head.

"I understand, aside my clothes, everything is already there so..."

"You have clothes there too".

He said making me look at him.

"I have clothes in the house? How? I did not buy anything, neither did I take any of my clothes there".

I said confused.

"You might not notice because your closet is really full but we already packed some clothes from your closet and as for the rest, we bought them, using the chairman's tab".

My mouth was slightly opened but I said nothing. I could never get used to this amount of wealth. How can someone fill in someone else's closet within a day?

Before I met Jason, I had about ten outfits but now, I had too many I didn't even know that most of them had been moved.

"How is grandpa"?

I asked.

"He is doing well. He will be coming into the country by next month. He can't fly yet because of the surgery".

I nodded and took a sip of my tea.

"Nadia"?

I heard someone call my name and when I raised my head, I saw the one person I did not want to see right now.

"Melissa".
