"Melissa".
I said with no emotion in my voice. I was definitely not excited to see her but for some reason, I wasn't upset either. I just did not care about her presence at all.
I went back to taking my coffee but was forced to look up again as she was not leaving.
"Do you need something".
I asked but she just stood there, looking at me and smiling. I raised a brow, seeing how she did not look normal right now.
"You... I underestimated you".
She said still smiling. I was about to say something but she spoke again.
"See you around"?
She said and without waiting for a response, she began walking away.
As soon as Melissa began to walk away, the smile immediately vanished as she replaced it with a pissed look. She looked like she could kill someone.
Li Sa-ra came to inform Nadia that a Media house wanted to interview her quickly.
"Do I have to do it"?
I asked Li Sa-ra. I was already liking the girl, she definitely knew how to do her job properly.
"It's not necessary but I think it can give you more positive publicity. The public already likes what they are seeing even though some reporters are trying to make you look bad but I think you should meet this one and get more publicity".
I looked at her with a 'waw' coming out of my mouth.
"Did you have to say all of that just to answer that simple question"?
I asked sarcastically. Lawyer Patrick smiled and said.
"I guess you are very busy, alright then, I'll leave you to do your business".
He said and I smiled. I stood up when he did and bowed politely.
"Shall we"?
Li Sa-ra asked as soon as lawyer Patrick was gone.
I looked at this heartless woman who would not even allow me to finish my tea.
"Fine".
I said and began walking out. We soon made it to another restaurant. This restaurant had a pretty quiet vibe to it. It felt like a restaurant that could give one its privacy even though other people were there. I like it.
"Miss Nadia"?
I heard someone call and I looked up.
"Hello, I am reporter Sara. It's nice to meet you".
I bowed lightly and she sat. The interview did not take too long and because the reporter kept smiling, I could not tell if she liked me or not.
"I'll be sure to write a good article, Miss President".
She said and bowed, which made me smile.
"I'm counting on you".
I replied and bowed gently.
Jason was on a call with Grandpa and he was told that Nadia was moving out today. He understood so he wasn't totally against it. Besides, he knew she'd get more insults if people were to find out. The only thing that didn't sit right with him was the fact that he was not able to talk to her properly this morning.
There was a knock on the door, distracting him from the call he was making.
Miguel walked in pretty hurriedly.
"I understand Grandpa, I'll talk to you later".
Jason said and ended the call.
"Wait, wait!! Ohh goodness, this boy ended the call. He is always so busy".
Grandpa O'Brien said as he looked at his phone which was already disconnected.
"What is it"?
Jason asked Miguel.
"I think you need to see this sir".
Miguel said and handed him a tablet. Jason collected it and began scrolling through.
"What is this".
Jason asked as it was too hard to believe.
"I figured something was off as Miss Melissa would constantly meet President Nadia's parents so I decided to get a DNA test since they were of the same age".
Jason looked at Miguel with a mysterious smile on his face.
"So... Melissa's parents are those people who raised my woman"?
He asked and Miguel nodded.
"And Melissa knows"?
"I'm not sure about that Sir".
Miguel replied honestly and Jason simply nodded.
"It's a pretty small world don't you think"?
Jason asked but of course, he was not expecting an answer from Miguel.
"Don't tell anyone about this including Nadia. Let's find out more before telling her".
Miguel nodded showing that he understood and shortly after, he left.
After Miguel had left, Jason's phone rang, making his attention drift from the pictures he was looking at.
"Hello"?
"Is this Mr Jason O'Brien"?
"Yes"
Jason replied and then, he heard the person on the other side of the phone laugh. The person who called began laughing so much it felt like whoever it was had lost their sanity.
Jason was about to end the call when he heard what the person said.
"Listen carefully, if you don't want this slut head sent to you, you'll do exactly as I say".
Jason still looked calm and indifferent but if one looked closely, you could tell that he was a bit tensed as his hand folded into a fist.
"What did you say"?
"You are smart, I won't bother repeating myself".
The guy on the other side said and ended the call.
Jason immediately called Nadia, he called but she didn't pick up even though the phone was ringing so he decided to try again.
"Hey babe, sorry I didn't hear my phone ring".
Jason instinctively sighed in relief.
"Are you okay? Do you have your guards with you"?
He asked and he heard her smile.
"Of course, I'm fine".
Jason nodded as though she could see him.
"I heard you would be moving".
He said and she gave a 'mnn' in response.
"I'll come to visit or we should go out on a date soon".
He said and she smiled.
They spoke for a while before ending the call.
Nadia looked at her phone and said.
"So you really won't talk about last night huh"?
"Boss".
Li Sa-ra called, bringing back her attention.
"We should go back to the office".
Nadia nodded and entered the car.
Meanwhile, Jason was thinking about the asshole who made that prank call. He was sure it was a burner phone so it would be very hard to track.
While he was still thinking about how to get the person, Miguel barged into his office without knocking.
"Well, that's a first".
Jason said nonchalantly as he didn't really care since it was Miguel.
"We have a problem".
Miguel said and Jason tensed up again.
"What is it"?
He asked trying to make Miguel hasten the conversation.
"Your mom... the madam has been kidnapped".
