Chapter - 10

Betty Director was sitting on a rather comfortable chair, wearing nothing but silk robes, and a collar. She contemplated how she ended up in her current predicament.

Betty thought she might get a more in-depth conversation with the Happy Man. When she arrived, she couldn't locate him. So, instead of asking one of the staff bots or waiting for him to show up, she decided to stealthily investigate the forbidden areas. She figured she might find something that would allow her to get honest answers.

She quickly discovered that both employee-only areas are both simple doors that leads to the repair shop in the basement. There, in the only place that had an active light source, she found the Happy Man preforming maintenance on what looked like pirate Foxy. What shocked her though was the conversation the two of them were having.

As the repairs appeared to be almost finished, she heard Foxy ask, "So, how the project coming along? Admittedly I'm starting to feel a little anxious." Without missing a beat H.M. answered, "Well, Ballora, Circus Baby, Glamrock Chica, and Roxy proved simple, mostly because they already had bio-synthetic parts. So, a full conversion wasn't a real stretch. But the rest of you however... I'm not going to lie, it's slow process to create the materials needed and even then, I'm not sure how much we'll actually need."

Foxy let out a sigh and then said, "Aye, we know, and while we do appreciate when you do decide to take prisoners because it does help speed up the process, we understand that you can't just grab any land lover off the street."

H.M. then remarked, "At least the cupcake, Bon-Bon and Fun-time Freddy opted not to undergo the conversion. Speaking of... has any more of your memories come back, for any of you?" Foxy seemed to hesitate for a moment, but just as he was about to speak, Betty had accidentally bumped a table and caused the scrap on it to shift and make noise.

H.M. immediately turned his attention to her location. Realizing she heard too much Betty ran. While moving through the dark, she had found a pair of sliding doors. She thought they were the doors to the elevator. She opened the without hesitation, believing she could climb out and seal it from the other side.

Unfortunately, it was not they were not the doors to the elevator. The last thing she remembers was seeing several pairs of glowing eyes, a sharp pain, and everything going cold and dark.

When she awoken, she knew something was off immediately. It wasn't the poorly lit cell, nor the lack of clothing, or even the collar around her neck. It the fact that she suddenly had a full field of vision. What happened next was, as she came to understand was standard. The big reveal of her new non-human status. The introduction to an apparently ever-growing harem, made of many individuals that she recognized from reports where their disappearances left very little room for doubt or hope that they were alive and that it hadn't been anything other than a tragic accident.

Then there were the disturbing implications of the fact that while the Happy Man cannot straight up control her, he can however, influence her to point where it feels like she has no choice. It wasn't an altogether unpleasant experience, but the fact that it was and wasn't a choice has caused her to feel confused about it. Then there was the collar, it wasn't just some fashion statement. It served a purpose, mostly it was there to restrain her from hurting others or herself. It was going to be a miracle if anyone figured out the truth about what happened.

The Mystery Machine pulled up to a house. It looked like any other house one would expect to see in such a neighborhood, except for the fact that the lawn care appeared completely automated. From a self-driving lawnmower to a metal-man trimming the hedges.

The gang marveled at the sight of such futuristic looking technology. A cough brought their attention back to the matter at hand. A young woman was standing there, a teenager to be sure. The lady introduced herself, Sharon. After some pleasantries, Velma decided to ask about her family's last project.

Sharon frowned and then said, "At the cost of my older brother, my family is now set for life. So, forgive me if I don't want to talk about it." She then turned and immediately went inside the house. After she left another voice said, "Don't worry about it too much, my sister is still sore about it, big brother's gone and our time with our father is limited. As for your questions, unfortunately the only one that could have answered them would've been our big brother Jim."

The gang turned and saw a young man probably the same age as Sharon. Bill explained that their father had mostly a supervisor role in that project, Jim and the Little Helpers did most of the restoration. They both did work on the commission, but honestly neither Bill nor Sharon actually knew the details about the project. They did help a little bit with the Happy Man.

Sharon had designed the suit that the Happy Man now wears, and Bill had built the faceplate that allows the Happy Man to facially express himself, among other things.

After realizing the family didn't have the answers, Velma thanked him and then the gang left. Before they drove off however, Bill ran up to them and said, "I don't know if it's related, but there was a break-in at the local police's evidence locker, not sure what was stolen, bur rumor has it was done by somebody with a burnt and rotted Springtime Bonnie costume."

They thanked him and then they left. After ten minutes of silence, Shaggy asked, "So, like do we have a mystery or what?" Velma thought for a moment and then said, "Maybe, but not in this town. I have a feeling the answers we seek are in Middleton." Daphne asked, "Does that mean we'll be staying there after the concert?" Velma answered, "Honestly, I like us to solve it before the concert." As Fred continued to drive, the rest of the gang began to discuss what they could find out over the internet.

Freddy was watching a scene play out. Himself, Chica, Foxy, Cupcake, and Bonnie was forcing Puppet to stick his head into Fred Bear's mouth. Circus Baby lady left the room there was no one there to stop them.

Why were they doing this? Because Puppet's father had made Fred Bear, and after every performance the Bear would just stand there with its mouth hanging open. They thought it was creepy and Puppet tried to defend it. The memory starts to blur, were they doing to shut Puppet up or were they helping him because he thought he could fix it?

The scene ends when Puppet sticks his head in and for the first time ever, Fred Bear's mouth slammed shut.

Freddy opened his eyes; he was laying on a special couch. His eyes turned to see the Happy Man there listening to what he had to say. This wasn't the first he talked about his past. Ever since they arrived here, memories of their past have been coming back. Or at least pieces of it. All his memories no matter how far back he goes he still remembers himself as Freddy Fazbear. Same goes for the others. He recognizes them as they are now not what they were. His first night he was groggy, acting more on instinct than anything else. However, watching the Happy Man juggle; Toy Bonnie, Toy Freddy, and Toy Chica like they were nothing, had both cleared his mind and accept the fact that despite his appearance, the Happy Man was not human.

As Freddy stood up, he was reminded on his current form's limitation. He turned to H.M. and asked, "I wanted to ask, how is the conversion project going?" The project in question, while it wouldn't change his appearance, it would give him back his sense of smell, taste, and touch. As well as the ability to enjoy a few other luxuries that he hadn't appreciated from before.

The Happy Man answered, "Foxy has volunteered to try it first, if it goes as intended, I'll be able to calculate how much material I'll need. As for the test itself, it's planned for tonight."

Freddy gave a nod in acknowledgment. While this is something to be excited for, it was better not to rush. Foxy after all was taking a real risk with a full conversion. The bell rang, signaling that it was 9am and everyone should get into their positions. Freddy had a thought as he left for his morning post, 'Well, for now I can be satisfied with being able to openly play with the children.'

The day was going as any other. The Happy Man however was distracted by three thoughts. First, buzz on social media indicated that the challenge was still on, the prize was increased, and that people were planning a blitz attack.

Second, the girl's downstairs were getting bored. While he has expanded the area to allow for alternate forms of entertainment, they were still craving interactions with other people. While he wasn't nervous about them spilling his secret, he still needed a way to prevent other people from recognizing them.

Third, was his understanding of the history of this company. While the loss of his children might have been an excuse, all signs point that Afton had already gotten into the habit of stuffing bodies inside the animatronics.

Betty had told him what she knew. While it helps identify who was where. There were still a lot of questions left unanswered.

His mind then drifted to Vanessa and her unusual habits. He could create costumes for the ladies. That could help with a lot of things. From help managing the floor, to watching things while he collects more "materials."

He didn't have time to waste. The concert/anniversary event was rapidly approaching. But today was Saturday, so he'll have wiggle room. Tonight, Foxy would undergo the procedure and afterwards he can make the costumes. Now the only thing on his plate was the social media challenge. It was useful to a point, but the plans he's been uncovering have become more elaborate, to the point that they're actually threatening his family. He is running out of patience for those type of people. Since jail time wasn't deterring them, perhaps something more dramatic was in order.

Slowly trudging through a forest, a burned and withered was limping towards a goal. He knew exactly where to go, he could sense a piece of himself. Far away, he's already traveled far, but he still has farther to go.

What truly upset him was the fact that this should've been unnecessary. But the promised body had been stolen from him, and then it forced him back into this rotted corpse.

He would get his revenge, even now he could feel what was happening with others. He couldn't command them, not at this distance and not while that pretender was in charge. But he's already made arrangements. Eventually that pretender will expose himself, and inevitably someone will react with violence. Then he will be able to take what should've been his from the beginning.

His body stopped and recited some random line. An annoyance he has to deal with. As he continued, he wondered if the pretender knew the real reason for giving them such organic bodies. It will definitely be more entertaining if they don't figure it out.

Vanessa, a former night-shift security guard, had been doing so real soul searching since the incident. She was currently driving towards the new Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria. She still had her old bunny costume, it should after help fool the animatronics.

This place, there is no way it doesn't have a connection to him. Considering her past, if he was involved, then she would have to fix it.

Not something she was looking forward to, but something she needed to do. She stopped to check her map, since she was taking the back roads, she still had a way to go. By her calculations she would arrive just after the anniversary party. Vanessa shrugged, thinking, 'I'll make this work, somehow.'
