Dominique's POV
How did I manage to get myself into these situations, I wondered, and adjusted my grip on Anastasia's reins. Just my luck that Griffin's ex-girlfriend would live in an actual castle, inaccessible any way other than horseback. Anastasia gave a snort, as if in response to my thoughts.
"Good girl, Ana," I whispered soothingly, and cast an annoyed glance at Griffin, who was riding in front.
I didn't know why I was irritated with Griffin, the situation wasn't his fault. Yes, he'd had the bad sense to date a woman who later decided to abduct someone to force a reunion. But there was no way he could have anticipated that would happen. It could happen to anyone, really, I thought. Then I amended, no, perhaps not ANYBODY, but, still, it would be a mistake to hold someone responsible for an ex's behavior, no matter how odd that behavior might be. That was when I realized that I was starving, which always put me in a bad mood.
