Blue cobras

The day had just broken, the birds were chirping, the followers were dancing and the sun was coming out of hiding.

Genevieve's car drove down the old county road in a hurry. The radio volume was low while she listened to the voice of her business partner as he spoke about their deals.

The morning dew grazed upon her car, the leaves attempted to fly as her car drove by in such a hurry.

____

It was yet another day and I had not rested from the previous day's activities. A yawn escaped my lips causing me to sound like a hungry seal, my hand flared up from the steering wheel and grabbed my lips in an attempt to stop the loud noise.

"You must be tired." My Godfather and as well my business partner said to me.

"Of course not!." I responded and kept our conversation flowing.

The old city's gate began to unravel in my eyes, I drove down to the gate and was immediately stopped.

I watched my window roll downwards while they waited patiently.

"State your business here." The man spoke with an authoritative tone while his eyes scanned me and as well my car.

I raised my eyebrows at hik to show my disgust and anger to me asked such a question.

"I am here to see the manager," I said.

The "old city." Was a hotel owned by the ministry who used the drug dealers as goons.

"Would you please step out of the vehicle so we can confirm you came in without weapons." His colleague spoke politely.

"Where is the Mexican man that usually is here?." I asked clumsily.

"You mean the chief?." They spoke in sync.

"Whatever he is now!, call him out." I flung my words back at them.

They both looked at each other and then at me.

"Damite!!!." The man at the gate yelled with a smile on his face.

"Papa!!." I smiled at him cheerfully.

He limped towards my car holding on to the kneel of his left leg, I could feel my heart sinking at the pain of seeing him in such a way.

"What happened to you?." I asked him.

He waved his hands to the other men who hurriedly opened the gates. "Old age my dear."

"Old age doesn't break your leg!!, who did it?!."

After my brief conversation with Adalbert, I drove into the hotel compound. I could see the manager awaiting my arrival at the entrance of the hotel.

"Why is the place closed down?." I asked him as I exited the car, I closed the car door and locked it.

"It's lovely to see you Damite."

"Why is the hotel closed?." I repeated my question.

"The elders are angry about our returns so they…"

"They gave you a strict."

Both I and the manager walked into the hotel, I looked at the hallway wall that was decorated with blood and pieces of human body parts, the smell of dead bodies and bullets set me on the edge, I turned my neck slightly to see a trope of the manager's goons behind us.

"Don't worry about them." He reassured me.

I looked over at him.

"Why am I here?." I asked him.

Adalberto had pulled me all the way from my house in the heart of Mexico to the outskirts of the country without telling me what the reason for the urgent meeting was. I sat on the chair which was provided by one of his goons, I crossed my legs and waited for him to speak.

"I need you to deliver drugs to the manager of Midnight Club."

"You dragged me out of my house to tell me this? Do I look like some goon to you?." I lashed out in anger.

I stood up and turned my back against him in motion.

"All you need to do is get the drug into town, once it's in town everything is done!, you!, You Damite is the only one who has enough privileges to drive past the law enforcement without getting questioned"

"I am retired!!." I reminded him.

I stood with my eyes on the door while he stood staring at my back.

"The last time I heard you were depressed child!." He spoke calmly.

Despite how calm he sounded I could feel an uproar deep down inside my guts, my fists were vibrating at his words, how dare he reopen my slightly closed wounds?

I launched my fist towards the wall, the goons moved towards me and from the side of my eyes I could see him waving his hands at them to stay in their places.

I punched the wall beside me repeatedly till I head the bones in my knuckles crack, blood began to trickled down my knuckles painful.

"Do you feel better now?." Adalberto questioned me.

I chuckled for a few seconds as I turned towards Adalberto.

"Yes I do. Thank you." I stretched my hand towards hik and he grabbed it, Adalberto pulled me closer and hugged me tight before he whispered into my ear.

"I need the drugs delivered as soon as possible."

"It's always work with you Adalberto!!."

I was led to one of the hotel rooms to rest, I walked into the room and the first thing I noticed was the first aid box sitting on the bed.

"Am I that predictable?." I asked myself though I shaked the thought off and immediately headed towards the bathroom to have a bath.

It had been a long journey driving down to the old city. I took off my clothes and abandoned them on the couch before I stepped into the bathroom. After almost an hour in the bathroom I walked out to find a girl on my bed wearing nothing but her underwear.

"Hi pretty." She addressed me.

"Are you in the wrong room?." I asked her.

She slowly and sluggishly sat up in a seductive way.

"Of course not." Her tone was gentle like a siren trying to lure a captine of a ship into her trap.

I noticed the tattoo on her neck which made me feel irritated. Without saying a word I got dressed and walked out of the room while she watched in shock.

I had noticed she has a blue cobra tattooed on her neck which was on the necks of every single prostitute owned by the ministry.

I flung Adalberto's office door open only to interrupt his oral sex with one of the blue cobras as they are called.

"Ugh!." He pinched his nose.

I could tell he was trying so hard to hold himself back from gronting.

"I didn't ask you to stop!." He scolded her when she stopped what she was being paid for.

"I will be taking my leave now." I informed him.

"And the delivery?."

"Consider it done."
