"Absolutely not!" Laleen yelled back, her voice raised higher than normal and leading to an uncomfortable silence that surrounded the cafe.

Realizing herself, she sighed as she wore back her glasses. It would do her no good to draw attention to herself to avoid being recognized.

Looking around, she mumbled an apology to the piercing stares she received.

Elizabeth apologized as well. After all, she was the one who yelled first.

But a smile tugged at her lips that refused to let go. Her blue eyes glowed with amusement.

Laleen sharply turned to face her when she was done apologizing.

"Would you stop jumping to conclusions?" Her voice was a deliberate yet urgent whisper.

Elizabeth shrugged again as she flicked a lock of her golden hair to her back.

"I don't know. You seem quite content. Aren't you scared at all?" Her voice took a more concerned turn as her initial amusement dissipated.
