The ride to her home was mostly quiet.
Laleen's eyes flickered in Shane's direction from time to time and the more she stared at his gorgeous side profile, the more nervous she got.
When the car finally came to a halt, her heart almost stopped for a second.
Watching Shane undo his seatbelt, her hands instinctively grabbed his elbow.
His dark eyes sparked with annoyance as he glanced at her.
Laleen's lashes fluttered desperately as she peered into his eyes.
"Please act nicely," she muttered in plea and she watched his blank face light up into a small sadistic smile.
"Sure," his voice sounded eager and that was not the Shane she knew.
Was this a bad idea after all? Laleen swallowed hard as she released his hand and got down from the car.
Shane's eyes surveyed his surroundings with an expressionless gaze. The last time he had been around here, the troublemaker was being chased by some jobless humans.
