Laleen felt her heart thud against her ribcage. A cold sweat broke against her back as she swallowed.

Why hadn't she thought about this? She never imagined her father would directly ask Shane such a question.

It seemed her father didn't believe the dating story Shane had singlehandedly cooked up.

His calculating brown eyes never left Shane's dark ones for a second as he stared at the younger man.

Laleen looked towards Shane's direction and when his eyes locked with hers, she spoke to him through her gaze.

They had to lie their way out of this.

Her brown eyes shone with plea as she stared at him knowing Shane was far from a cooperative man.

As if to agree with her thoughts, he finally spoke in a calm voice, "It was your daughter's wish not mine"

Julius raised his eyebrows as his eyes instantly flickered to Laleen's shocked face where her eyes were bulging as she stared at Shane.
