"Hmm?" Laleen blinked, not sure if she heard correctly.
"You want to… ?" She stared at him wide-eyed, his words registering.
Shane nodded. "Let's hear all that you did today"
Laleen wanted to pinch her cheeks. Was she dreaming? If she was, then she never wanted to wake up!
Shane walked inside leaving her to think and Laleen's eyes were quick to follow him.
She watched him take off his coat to reveal his broad back to her and she gulped, staring as he draped it over a chair.
He sat down, tired and Laleen quickly took a seat too. It saddened her that the red tape made sure to keep them apart.
She would have liked to sit beside him.
He raised his head, his gaze encouraging her to start. It was only then that Laleen realized just how drained he looked.
Was he sleeping properly?
With that thought, Laleen brought her chair closer until it was near the red tape partition between them.
