A Secret to be kept

****

Four months Later...

I was walking away from the house deep into the forest. The Hades forest that people avoided because they believed it was cursed but it was not cursed, rather it was blessed by the Gods and Goddesses of Heaven. I was one of the Gods who had blessed this forest. It had things that only the brave could see. Herbs and flowers and the pond of prosperity. The green grass that never wilted or died and changed colours remained the same every time. The chocolate scent of the Chocolate Cosmos bloomed everywhere within the forest.

It reminded me of Earth's delicacies. The deep red colour of the chocolate cosmos made the forest look like a bloody scene cut out from a war descriptive scene and was pasted in the middle of the forest. It screamed violence and anger while the Queen Of The Night flowers that could purge out the darkness that the heart harbours were like clouds that fell down heaven. It gave a balance to the Chocolate Cosmos. Instead of the violence and anger. It screamed peace and innocence. It was the perfect balance between Good and Evil. It was the balance that us Gods and Goddesses created.

"Did you find it?"

"I found one-half of it." I answered.

"Which half of it did you find?"

"Take a Guess." I joked.

"Does this seem amusing to you?"

"Why are you angry?" I asked, vexed.

"If you did not interfere with my work, there would not be such a problem right now!" I exclaimed incensed.

"It had to come back to heaven and you weren't letting it."

"It didn't deserve that! It didn't deserve to die like that and you know it! You had placed it in the wrong place which led to its death!" I shouted angrily

"Thanatos!"

"Irenic!" I exclaimed.

"Thanatos is not my name in the world of the living and you know it!" I state.

"You could either go and find the other half while I protect what I found, or you wait until I find it in my own free time." I added as I turned to face her.

Irenic, The woman I love but can't be with as it's against the rules for gods and goddesses to be with each other. The Vinoks she wore made me want to be with her even more. It made me want to crawl to her and beg her to keep me. The God who is responsible for the souls of the dead. While she... She was the Goddess who was responsible for sending the souls of the dead to the promised land or underworld where they would suffer for eternity.

"It deserves to be happy Irené." I let out a sigh after a few moments of silence.

"It would have been happy in heaven." She replies gently.

She didn't want to fight me and I could hear it in her voice. I walked up to her and caressed her face before she turned away from my touch.

"It had powers." I tell her.

"What? That's impossible!" she exclaimed confused and shocked.

"When I found it, it had a barrier that was protecting it." I explained.

"It did things no one except us could do." I add.

"When I sent it to you, it was repelled by the doors of Idylls and I had tried. I tried to get it in but it couldn't enter." I spoke after a while.

"Look here." I said as I showed her a scar on my back.

"How?" She asked confused.

As a God, we could not get hurt by any humans not even by souls. And if they were able to... It would never leave a scar on us...

"I don't know but it accomplished this." I answered.

She stared at the scar shocked by how big it was. Her hand moved forward in an attempt to touch it but she stopped before she could.

"It grew in front of me too." I added.

"What?" she asked shocked.

"They don't grow when they die. They can't grow if they are dead!" She shrieked as she paced up and down.

"Well, it grew Irené. It even almost Killed me, A God!" I added shuddering.

"No, it can't be it! Do you think that this is His attempt to kill us?" She asked.

"I don't know." I tell her.

She bites her nails nervously as her eyebrows scrunch towards her nose. Half of it is missing and half of it doesn't remember a thing. I pity it. Born only to die a painful death. How pitiful it looked when I found it.

I was wandering through the streets of Seoul when I heard its cry. When I felt its pain. I sighed as I listened to it crying.

"I can't even get a moment of peace without these mortal beings dying." I mumbled to myself as I walked in the direction of where the cries came from.

A lifeless small body covered in blood lay in the wet sewage water near rumble and trash. The smell of rotten meat and rotten food was so strong that it made me feel that if my human body was here I would die from the thick disgusting stench that was covering the corner. I looked at the body more carefully and I realized that it was the body of a six-year-old female. Using my powers to see the dead's final moments my heart broke.

"Please wake me up."

I turned my head to see the dead girl standing in front of me. She was scared but she still asked. Her soul shivered as she gazed at me.

"Hello." I said crouching down to be at eye level with her.

"H...he...Hel...Hello." she stuttered as she tightly squeezed her eye.

"What's your name?" I asked her.

"I...I don't have a name." She answered stuttering.

***

"Irené, I'm going to go see him." I tell her.

"Are you sure that's okay?" She asked.

"He needs to answer my question." I tell her.

"Good luck." she said hugging me tightly.

I hugged her back before her body turned to burning paper.

"Come out Krisis," I said as I turned my head.

Krisis, The God of Judgement. He is the only God who can judge the Gods and Goddesses. He was created to keep the balance between the Gods and Goddesses but he wants to reduce the number of Gods and Goddesses that exist.

"I'm disappointed." he said pouting.

"Stop making jokes Krisis." I let out boredly.

"But I'm not." he told me as he sat on the tree stump.

"I agree that I do want to kill the both of you, but I have decency." he explained as he opened a portal to a fast food kitchen grabbing the first meal he could find.

He took a bite of the burger and had a look of disgust on his face.

"What's wrong with those mortals?" He whined after he had taken a bite of a burger.

"A Veggie Patty." he whined disgusted.

"Then who created it?" I asked him.

"Who created us?" he counter-attacked.

"You know that we existed before time." I tell him.

"You existed before time." He said getting up and walking towards me.

"You and Irenic were here before we met." he added.

"You could have created it." he added as he poked my head.

Inflamed, I grabbed his hand and threw him into a portal. It will take him months to get out of there. He would have to fight his way out of there.

"I'm going to find it and I'm going to make them one again." I tell myself as I walk out of the forest.

"Someone will discover you one day." I tell the forest as I walked away.

"Jack!"

I looked ahead of me and there she stood excited. She smiled at me waving.

"Hello, Lady Latrice." I greeted kissing her hand.

We walked in silence until she stopped. She stared at me before sighing. She then shook her head and continued walking.

"What's wrong?" I asked her, curiously.

"It's nothing." she answered.

"Is it really nothing?" I asked her as I stopped.

"You know..." she spoke before stopping.

It was like she was contemplating to tell me what she wanted to tell me.

"You won't laugh or tease me right?" she asked sternly.

"I promise I won't." I answered patting her head.

"Well... You see... Sometimes I wish you were my brother and a noble, that way you could punch that man and get away with it." she answered as she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the house.

"Is that so?" I asked her.

"Yep." she answered as we walked.

"You are going to be my knight forever right?" she asked as we walked into the house.

"That's what I promised." I replied smiling at her.

I'm going to be your knight until you die Latrice. So until then, this God will protect you. I'll protect you as much as I can.
