Cid, hearing her small plea, sighed before patting her head and giving her a hug to make her feel better.

Alexia, feeling his warmth and his arms around her, closed her eyes and tried to remember the feeling forever.

Afraid he would leave her, she wrapped her own arms around him and hugged him tighter, afraid that if she let go, he would disappear forever from her life. Tears silently poured down her face as her lip started to quiver.

"You overthink things too much, you know? If I was truly mad at you or even hated you, we wouldn't even be talking right now. I would have just ignored you and gone on with my day," Cid said while patting her head.

"But...but..."

Sighing once again, Cid thought to himself, 'Since she isn't listening to reason, the only way to get her to understand is through action.'

Cid broke away from the hug with Alexia, while she just looked toward the ground, her head down, too afraid to even look up at Cid.

Cid took hold of her small chin and lifted it up to look at him. Before Alexia could express her confusion, Cid didn't hesitate to take her lips into his.

Alexia was too stunned to react, her body moved on its own as she reciprocated Cid's kiss. Their lips interlocked, and unable to contain herself, Alexia wrapped her arms around his neck, drawing him closer.

Their intimacy grew with each passing moment; their tongues tangled until Alexia was almost breathless, forcing them to disengage. Panting, her face turned as red as Iris's hair. She covered her embarrassment by hiding her face with both hands, though a faint but beautiful smile lingered on her lips.

Cid gently patted her hair. "There, that should show you I'm not upset with you."

Alexia, still red-faced, nodded silently.

Cid sighed, realizing how much he had sighed that day. "I'm sure alp–, Kalandra was a bit harsh on you. But remember, none of this is your fault. Despite wanting to blame yourself, you're a victim here. And as you saw, I'm perfectly fine."

Alexia, still replaying their kiss in her mind, timidly twiddled her fingers before looking up. "Can... Can we do that again?"

Cid rolled his eyes and swiftly drew Alexia closer by the waist, prompting a small squeal from her. As their bodies pressed against each other, Cid gently brushed her hair back and held her face, meeting Alexia's gaze filled with anticipation.

He leaned in, initiating another deep, lingering kiss between them. When they eased apart, a subtle strand of saliva lingered between their lips, connecting them briefly.

"I've taken care of everything, and since you seem better, I'm going to go. I have something to attend to," Cid stated.

"If I wasn't feeling better, would you stay? 'Cause right now, I don't think I'm feeling so good," Alexia teased.

Cid scoffed playfully, walking away as Alexia watched his retreating figure with a small smile lingering on her face.

...

As Cid strolled towards Mitsugoshi Company, he discreetly sent a message through his shadow: "You asked me to inform you when I visit. Here's me letting you know."

Upon arrival, he noticed an extensive queue, requiring staff members to manage the crowd. Among them was Nu, who spotted Cid and promptly approached.

"Congratulations, esteemed customer! Mitsugoshi Company has chosen you for a survey today. Follow me, please," Nu announced with practiced composure, swiftly guiding Cid through the bustling corridors until they reached a towering door.

"Please, proceed inside," Nu gestured, bowing slightly.

As Cid stepped into the grand chamber, his eyes looked around scanning at the opulence that surrounded him. The vast room exuded an air of regality. Illuminated by the soft glow of ornate chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, the space felt almost ethereal.

At the far end of the room, positioned majestically atop a raised platform, loomed a giant chair that bore a striking resemblance to a throne of antiquity. Crafted from rich, polished mahogany and upholstered with velvet of the deepest crimson hue, the seat bore intricate carvings depicting symbols of power and authority. Its towering presence commanded attention, exuding an aura of dominance and sovereignty.

A luxurious red carpet, flawlessly laid out, stretched across the polished marble floor, leading directly to the imposing throne. Flanking this pathway were uniformed girls, their attire meticulously designed to reflect an amalgamation of modern sophistication and traditional elegance. Each of them stood tall and composed, creating a perfectly arranged line that emphasized the significance of the ceremonial setting.

Standing gracefully beside the throne, Gamma, adorned in an elaborate gown that accentuated her noble stature, exuded an air of confidence and sophistication. Her attire, a blend of regal refinement and modern allure, featured intricate embroidery and embellishments that caught the light, emphasizing her graceful movements. With an enigmatic smile playing upon her lips, she exuded an aura of understanding and anticipation, her eyes locked onto Cid as he entered the room.

As Cid's gaze fell upon the scene before him, he couldn't help but let out a smirk. The arrangement, the girls' disciplined poise, and Gamma's poised demeanor bespoke a meticulous orchestration, hinting at the grandeur of the occasion. The gravity of the moment was palpable, and the entire atmosphere resonated with an undertone of reverence and expectation, as if poised for an event of great importance.

Gamma's knowing smile, coupled with her poised stance, suggested a shared understanding between her and Cid, a mutual recognition of the significance of the throne and the ceremonial proceedings. Her demeanor conveyed both respect for tradition and a subtle acknowledgment of the role she played in this orchestrated display, evoking an air of mystery and anticipation for what was to come.

"We've eagerly awaited your official arrival, Lord Husband," Gamma greeted.

Cid smirked and shook his head. "You always go above and beyond, Gamma."

Gamma proudly gestured towards the seat. "Please take your place, my lord. This hall is exclusively for you. With our growing Shadow Garden members, I deemed it fitting to create a Great Hall for all."

Cid sauntered over and seated himself, adopting an arrogant pose. "A seat fit for a king. Not bad."

Gamma beamed at Cid's response.

Turning towards Gamma, Cid extended his hand. As Gamma placed hers in his, Cid smirked and declared, "If this seat is for a King, then this King needs a Queen by his side."

With a gentle tug, Cid guided Gamma to sit on his lap before everyone, eliciting a blush from her.

'Kyaa, he called me his queen!' Gamma thought, leaning against Cid's shoulder as he pulled her close.
