Chapter 161: I Am You, You Are Me— We Are One (1)

Tatsuya looked at the unconscious girl with tender eyes.

He cast [Clean] before redressing her. Picking her up in his arms in a princess carry he left the cave. Immediately sunlight shone down on them in pieces as the leaves of the numerous trees shielded them.

Tatsuya walked towards the shore of the island calmly and it didn't take him long to notice numerous dead bodies.

All children who had yet to begin life.

With indifferent eyes, Tatsuya ignored them and reached the shore. He immediately noticed something odd.

A red-haired girl was sitting in the distance.

Behind her were several other girls, all unconscious.

But what made him curious was the body in front of the red-haired girl. With his superhuman eyes, he could see the body was still twitching in response to the red-haired girl's movement.

Tatsuya closed in on her.

"Amasawa."

The red-haired girl was stunned and turned back.

Despite having a mask over her face the excitement in her eyes was clear to see.

"Master!"

Tatsuya raised a brow but didn't call her out for it. She could call him whatever she liked.

Amasawa threw the mask away and smiled brightly seeing him accept the nickname. "This one was giving you quite the hateful glare so I gave him some special treatment."

Tatsuya placed Horikita among Ichinose, Hasabe, Kushida, Kei, Sakura, Hiyori and a few others. They were all the pretty ones from each class and everyone ever involved with Tatsuya.

He looked over Amasawa's shoulder and his lips twitched.

"Hirata?"

Yes.

The pathetic, still alive, and tortured man was Hirata.

Tatsuya sighed and couldn't even be bothered to describe his state. He clicked his fingers and burnt his body to ashes.

"I considered him a good friend. I'm not pleased with what you did." Tatsuya looked at Amasawa sternly before staring at the dark clouds in the sky.

It was no longer raining nor were there any signs of lightning.

"Given up, have you?" Tatsuya smiled and started conversing with the System.

Meanwhile, Amasawa was given a fright. She could practically taste the frigid coldness in his voice. He was quite likely mad at her.

She frowned and adjusted her mindset once again. She shouldn't do anything uncalled for and stick to listening orders.

It wasn't exactly her fault, she thought that since they were leaving the world Tatsuya didn't care about anyone.

For those he did care about he instructed her in advance, which were the girls. The army wielding the katanas were all blood clones so they didn't need to be briefed.

While she was lost in thought she quickly noticed something and froze in surprise.

A golden thread seemed to escape Tatsuya's chest and circled in front of them for a few brief seconds. The golden thread seemed to be something new as even the magical man in front of her was looking at the thread with curiosity

The thread began spinning with vigor and it didn't take long for the thread to erect straight. The golden thread began to expand and it soon became a gate.

Amasawa looked at the world behind the gate in fascination.

It was pure white.

An endless stretch of white.

It reminded her of the Whiteroom.

By the time she came back to her senses, she saw Tatsuya walk into the gate.

"Come."

That was all he said and Amasawa ran behind him.

It was serene.

That was my first thought as I stepped into the so-called Heavenly Realm.

"Is this really it?" A frown inevitably etched across my face as I gazed at the sky of this endless white domain.

[Yes, Host!]

"I really like knowing things that don't concern me at the moment." I ignored Amasawa's bewildered gaze. She might be wondering why I was talking to myself but it was okay.

It's Amasawa after all.

As for why I was questioning the System.

The fragmented sky which appeared similar to a broken mirror was enough to warrant suspicion. Surely the grandiose Heavenly Realm could not be like this?

Absurd.

[Heavenly Spirits that have not reached the Fourth Tier are not actually considered one. They are called Pseudo-Spirits. Pseudo-Spirits aren't given the right to join the Heavenly Realm till they form their own Heavenly Domain. Heavenly Spirits without Domains and those with Domains are leagues apart. If we were to go to a world of a Fourth Tier Heavenly Spirit we'd be detected and instantly killed.]

Hmm.

Pseudo-Spirits huh…

Even Heavenly Spirits have a childhood phase.

How adorable.

Anyways, where's the Heavenly Spirit?

[It's hiding itself.]

...Is that scorn?

The cold melodic voice which had remained emotionless all this time was quite apparent with its disdain. Can't lie her voice does sound hot like this, can I command it to keep this tone?

Thoughts for later I guess.

"Bring it out."

At my command, numerous golden threads shot out of me. Where are these threads even coming from? They resemble the threads from [Soul Eater].

The threads shot out like claws and whipped a particular area of space. As if the world itself was being distorted we were hit with an earthquake. Amasawa was looking at her feet curiously, probably wondering why there was an earthquake in a place like this.

I looked at the space where the golden threads were lashing and noticed a small tear. It looked like a stroke of jet-black ink on a blank sheet of paper.

[Tear it open, Host.]

The System tried to hide it but the excitement it held was questionable.

I couldn't help but sigh with swirling thoughts before grabbing the tear and forcing it open.

Rip———!

The scene inside the tear was astonishing.

The space inside it was jet black, completely devoid of any other colour.

But that wasn't all.

At the centre of the space was a humanoid being. It didn't have any skin, it didn't have a face nor did it have any distinct shape.

All I could tell was that it looked human-ish.

What I find interesting is the composition of this being. It was a blend of black and white, like Yin and Yang. Even stranger was that the colours weren't fixed in place. They were constantly moving across the 'body' of this being.

The only thing fixed was the numerous golden threads chaotically wrapped around its body.

If it weren't for this I wouldn't even be able to tell if it had a humanoid shape or not.

The only annoying thing was the constant pressure being emitted from the being.

[It might have not developed yet but its roots belong to Heaven.]

The System explained.

So that's how it is huh?

Isn't it wonderful that I've found myself trapped in a playful game of cosmic beings?

Hahaha.

[Host!]

The System barked.

[Can I devour it?]

The Heavenly Spirit trembled.

I could sense a wave of grief emitting from it.

A smile involuntarily surfaced, against my will.

"No."
