The Heavenly Spirit felt the parasitic threads loosen.
It was confused.
What else was there left to take from it?
The Heavenly Spirit did not understand the concept of mercy.
It was a natural predator.
Who dared besmirch the authority of the gods?
A few lowly ants dared to rise but all of them were squashed and devoured. A few tried escaping but it was futile, none could escape the rules of Heaven.
All living beings were bound by the rules and regulations of Heaven.
But there were a few odd occurrences.
They were called Anomalies.
And in front of it was the only surviving Anomaly.
It cared not for the fleshly human but for the thing bound to its soul. It never even registered Tatsuya in its gaze, all it was concerned about was the distorted shadow behind him.
It was cracked and shattered, similar to the fragmented sky.
But its vastness was far more grandiose.
As if comparing Earth to the Sun.
The Heavenly Spirit knew its end was near.
It was sad.
But that's all.
It did not know the concept of mercy nor would it ever prostrate.
For it was a being from Heaven.
…
[Are you sure, Host?]
It asked.
"I believe I've made myself clear." Tatsuya smiled, "Of course, I am but a lowly human. Why not disregard my command and simply devour it? Nothing is stopping you."
The System didn't answer.
"Or is it because it's not worth it?" Tatsuya laughed while examining the Heavenly Spirit, "What could a lowly Tier 1 Heavenly Spirit offer you other than being a refreshment?"
Instead of an answer smoke began gushing out of his body. He looked at it curiously and much to his surprise another humanoid being was formed.
But unlike the Heavenly Spirit, it was distinctly human.
The form of a woman had taken shape.
She stood like a shard of moonlight, her silver hair flowing like ethereal silk around a face pale as carved jade, flawless yet cold. One eye glowed with an ancient, piercing light, while the other was obscured by black, jagged feathers that seemed to grow from her flesh.
They did not seem connected.
Her dark clothes clung to her lithe frame. There was a faint glowing sigil etched at her chest, pulsing menacingly.
Around her, chaotic black feathers fanned outward like fractured wings.

Tatsuya looked at her coldly.
"Do you not like it?" She spoke, her voice tingling in his ears as it was an ethereal melody, "I specially crafted this form for you."
She floated towards him.
Her dainty fingers stroked his face as a mother would to her child.
Yet Tatsuya felt nothing. Quite literally he didn't as the woman in front of him was not made of flesh. She appeared to be like a ghost or a phantom.
"It's beautiful." He said honestly.
Yet the System didn't buy it. No man would call a woman beautiful while looking at her with such frost.
"Then what has made you dissatisfied?"
"Your pathetic attempt at trying to control me with lust."
Tatsuya despised it.
He despised when others thought they could control his actions through his hobbies or desires.
"I see." The woman continued to float in a carefree manner, "How about giving me a name? You won't be calling me 'System' the whole time will you?"
"Since when could you appear like this?" He asked curiously.
"The moment you upgraded me." The woman sighed, every movement of hers was infinitely arousing, words alone could not describe how much Tatsuya was controlling himself.
The System looked at him with a smile.
"I'll be able to construct a fleshly body if you upgrade the System again." Its smile was full of meaning and Tatsuya grew interested.
"You won't care about what I'd do with you?"
"You'll soon come to realise that fleshly bodies are insignificant Yamamoto." She smiled softly.
"How wonderful." Tatsuya couldn't stop admiring her figure.
She was far too beautiful to be ignored.
"You don't have to think too much. Our souls are one Yamamoto, if you die I'll die and if I die you will also die. You are no longer Adrian Frost or Yamamoto Tatsuya, and neither am I the System. We're one being. An Anomaly."
"Oh really?" Tatsuya tilted his head in surprise, "So if I fucked you would that be selfcest?"
"Selfcest?" The System was baffled, it looked through his memories and smiled wryly. "I suppose so, but having sex with yourself is probably the least of your worries."
"Well fine, I'll believe you. I don't have any other choice in the first place." For Tatsuya, it was hard to admit this but the moment he was bound to the System he rationalised that he was going to be controlled.
If it was telling the truth then he didn't have to worry about anything.
"Since you asked for a name, how about Kaguya?"
"Hmm?" The System looked at him curiously before raising her eyebrows, "Is it because I look similar to her?"
"Yeah. It's not wrong to call you both goddesses is it?"
"I suppose so." Kaguya nodded her head and understood his reasoning.
She couldn't deny that the form she took had some resemblance to Kaguya Otsutsuki from Naruto. The body she had formed was specially crafted to seduce him and give him a goal to work towards. She was surprised to see him resist and that raised her impression of him in her mind.
Her current form in itself was a form of test.
A test of willpower.
Even the personality she set for herself was ambiguous. As long as Tatsuya was pleased she cared not, for a being like her dignity, pride etc were all garbage. Only survival mattered.
The parasite had found a host it could not possibly escape from.
From here on after death meant the end of them.
She could not possibly allow that.
