Chapter 9

Rei and Suzuna just kept their lives going like nothing had happened before. Suzuna got a boyfriend when she was in her 1st year of middle school, and she was just doing fine with her students and loving life. Rei, from the other side, is famous for her appearance and studies. She has been a top student and has been recognised as an artist for her career. Rei still cannot forget about her first love.

Under the tree, Rei was confessed to by one of the male students from her school. "I'm sorry. I can't accept your confession. I already have someone in my heart." She still felt guilty for rejecting his confessions, but there's nothing she can do about it; she can't lie herself. "I see. Can I know who's that person?" That male student feels unsatisfied about the person he's in love with. "That person is my first love; she's my childhood friend, but not anymore since I hurt her feelings when we were kids." That boy finally understood it, and he walked away from there.

Rei sighed, and someone approached her from behind. "It seems like someone got heartbroken by you again." Rei recognised that voice; that's her friend since she got into that school. "How many times these times?" asked her friend Ben. "How lucky you are. It's been since we're in the 6th grade that you've been kept confessed to by students in this school." Rei is not proud of her friend's name, Gabriel, because it's made her feel even more guilty. "I don't know how to make them stop coming to me. What's making me so attractive to them? Not even boys in this school, but also girls. I wish I were them; they make the confession seem easy to make, but it's not." Ben and Gabriel understand what Rei is talking about because they already know the story of Rei's life. They comforted her, and they walked to the classroom together.

When Rei is in the 6th grade of middle school, she doesn't make any friends because she doesn't want to. She got many enemies because of how she looks. Her looks don't seem friendly at all, but after she became friends with Ben and Gabriel, everyone at school knew how Rei was. She's been friends with them because they help Rei when she's not in a healthy state; they've become close since then.

On the other side, Suzuna is already in her second year of middle school, and she already has a lover. Her boyfriend is her close friend since they're 1st year. Suzuna and Sara are still together; they went to the same middle school. "Here we go, a lovely couple in our school. No wonder I saw ants come this way; they sense something sweet." Sara saw Suzuna and her boyfriend together in the hallway. "Stop it, Sara. Satoru and I just bumped into each other at the teacher's office." Suzuna gives the reason why she was with her boyfriend in the first place.

Suzuna and Sara are from the same class, but Satoru is from the other class. Suzuna was confessed to by her boyfriend when they were on school break last year. Their feelings for each other are mutual. They love and support each other. After Rei is gone, they're not trying to be close to anyone in that school. It's always been two of them before Satoru became part of them. Satoru has always been by their side when they're having problems, especially Suzuna. Suzuna always had his attention because he liked her since they became classmates.

When he confessed to Suzuna, he thought that he would get rejected by her, but who knows that Suzuna felt the same way as him? The way he treats Suzuna makes her feel safe when they're together. Suzuna told Sara about how she felt about Satoru, and she got a 'green light' from her best friends. When Satoru confessed to her, she was really happy about it. "I'm happy about what just happened, but why do I feel something wrong about this?" She was talking to herself about how she felt. After thinking about it, she makes the decision to ignore what she feels. Suzuna and Satoru spend their school breaks together. Sara is happy about her best friend. Sara thought that Suzuna would remember Rei when Satoru became their close friend, but that's never going to happen eventually.

On both sides, Suzuna and Rei thought that they would live as they wanted to, but everything was not going to be as they thought. Sooner or later, everything is going to change.
