Chapter twenty eight

Mavis stood there, the blanket still around her, holding Miran’s note in her hands.

“I am going to work overseas, I’ve been requested to participate for enforcement purposes. It’s for the ongoing revolution in Southern Kurdistan, can you not tell my mother? She probably won’t contact you or come around since I’m not there. I would’ve told you earlier if you didn’t avoid me and if you didn’t flinch every time I touched you. Before Mavis could have a moment to think, the door started banging loudly, scaring her. She felt her heart drop for a moment as the door actually swung open, it was Emin. She put her hand over her chest in relief that the place wasn’t being broken into by some criminal.

“Why are you here? I thought you were supposed to be at work. You terrified me! I thought you were going to be some big house burglar!” She yelled at him.
