The New Guy

I was sitting in my office as it was a perfectly normal Tuesday. It had been a few weeks since me and Jessie came up with the idea of making robots for this serum. I was working on the robot's right leg when i got a knock on the door. "Come in", I said as Jessie walked in. "I have great news Liz, i gathered all the needed parts for this and found out how this robot will function as well", Jessie said. "Well then lets hear it", I said. "So this robot could be taller and teenager like i suppose", Jessie said. "Well that would skip a whole lot of parenting", I said. "Or he could be a child", Jessie said. "No, this is why i don't want kids. Even if he's a robot, he's gonna think were his mommy's and i don't want to be a parent", I said. "It's only for testing purposes you know", Jessie said. "I suppose but just make it so it doesn't think were it's parents or something", I said. "Will do", Jessie said. Just then, me and Jessie's stomachs started to rumble. "I suppose we should go out on lunch break", Jessie said. "Yeah, i can get us some food", I said. "Ok, I'll stay here and get to work", Jessie said as we said our goodbyes and i headed out. I got in my car, turned it on and drove off. I was looking for a good place to pick up some lunch when i found a place downtown. I drove up, parked my car and headed out. I headed to the door's of the place when a gentlemen opened them for me. "Oh. Why thank you", I said. "Don't mention it. I think you also dropped this pen", He said as he held a pen. "I didn't drop that", I said. "I know, i needed an excuse to talk to you", He said. I was in a bit of a shock right now. I knew the guy was fluting with me but i didn't know how to respond. I still had feelings for Tom and all but...i just didn't know. I didn't quite know all too well. I then took the pen from his hand. "It's quite lovely, what your wearing. Quite lovely", He said. "Oh why thank you", I said as we both walked into the store. "I don't think i caught your name yet", I said. "That is true, you can call me Oliver", Oliver said. "Than you can call me Liz", I said. "Makes sense. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl. It works like that", Oliver said. "You...you think my name and me is beautiful", I said. "No one has ever noticed it before. To be honest i was in shock of that", Oliver said. "Well you would be in a lot of shock as to what has been said about me", I said. "I would suppose it's about family issues", Oliver said. "Why would you think of that", I said. "It's a thing that people shy away from, or it could just be me", Oliver said. "It's nothing", I said. "How about this", Oliver said as he then pulled out a piece of paper and wrote an equation on it. "Can you solve this", Oliver said as he showed me the equation. It was 728Ve980. "This is quite the tough one but the answer is 6606.481884325691648", I said. "I didn't say solve it as in solve it, i meant it as to find the message", Oliver said. "There is no message", I said. Oliver then erased the top part of the equation and then i could see it. "So what is the equation now", Oliver said. "I...I love you", I said. "Oliver then wrote another set of numbers on the paper. "Feel free to call that number, all always answer for you", Oliver said. "Maybe i will soon", I said. "Maybe i will answer but most likly", Oliver said. "And maybe when you answer, i will talk to you", I said. "It would be weird if you didn't", Oliver said. Just then, a car pulled up outside. "That's my ride, i have to get going for now but if you don't hate me already, you you be intrested in going out sometime? Maybe this Friday", Oliver said. "I would. Maybe to that fancy new place that opened up nearby", I said. "I would love that", He said. "I would too", I said. Just the, the car honked from outside. "Well not i have to go for real so i guess see ya around", Oliver said as he went outside and got in the car as it drove away. "I miss him already", I said as i then got my food, headed outside and drove off. At that very moment, a million thoughts entered my head. I didn't know how to describe it. I did have some feelings for this Oliver but i still had feelings for Tom. He was pretty charming after all. He did confess his feelings then and there after all. I just didn't know yet. Maybe when i get to know him some more but it would have to wait for now. I continued to drive to the Simmons center when i got there in a few minutes. I parked my car and got out and entered the building. I walked inside to see Jessie still working on the robot. "Hello there again", Jessie said. "Here is your lunch and how does the robot go", I said. "It's getting somewhere but it's still a work in progress for now", Jessie said. "When do you think we can start testing", I said. "It's hard to tell but it should be done hopefully in about three to four weeks from now if were lucky", Jessie said. "That is good to know and i also got a date so bye", I said. Jessie then stopped what she was doing. "You have a date", Jessie said. "Yeah", I said. Jessie was looking like she was about to burst open. "OMG YOU HAVE A DATE", Jessie swelled. "I know it's so exiting", I said. "So who is the lucky guy", Jessie said. "His name is Oliver and he is so charming", I said. "He does sound cute and all", Jessie said. Just then, something then started to flash on Jessie's screen. "Well i have to resolve this rather...difficult situation now", Jessie said. "No worries", I said as i headed off to my office. I can't wait for Friday. I can't wait. No i mean it, i can't wait any longer and i wanted this date to happen now, i thought as i enjoyed some lunch.
