A PEEP INTO THE PAST

March 10th, xxxy

THE WORKSHOP WAS ALPHA Meredith's home. Her first home before she built a second with her family. Her first love, her sanctuary, her joy. For it to have disintegrated into shambles like this makes Precious ashamed. Disgraced.

He could have taken better care of it. What would have happened if he had cleaned the place once a week? Instead, he had buried into himself, locked it away the way he locked his mother away.

Allowed himself to be miserable with every singular thought of her, of who she meant in his past, to when their family was complete. Precious doesn't need to be a therapist to know why he had done what he did.

Punishment. He had punished her for leaving, for dying, for splintering their family apart. Why take care of her love, why keep her joy flourishing, why keep her sanctuary intact.
