Chapter Thirteen

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Isabel

"Can't do it," I scoff, as I climb down the cliff. "She probably thinks I'm some sort of baby! I can do anything she can."

The thought of Taylor laughing at me makes me grind my teeth in anger. When she decided to break her own seal, nobody got a say in it. Now she's all cool and powerful. But when it's my turn, she suddenly has objections. Who does she think she is?!

Anger festers inside of me as I recall how she protested.

"I can control my powers just fine, thank you very much!" I breathe heavily, trying to maintain my footing. Against my better judgement, I peek down and my stomach drops on seeing the long fall awaiting me. Quickly looking back at the rocky surface before me, I try to relax, stammering out, "I'm not like her, unable to control my powers. I'm stronger than Taylor! And she can leave me all she wants. When I - When I come to rescue her, she'll be - she'll be all red-faced and crying because I was right and she was wrong!"
