It was hard work stealing a boat, but desperation fueled my actions.
Ever since I found Isabel's map, there's been a strange tension inside me that I haven't been able to shake off. I moved fast, barely stopping. I know she's on the island. She probably reached there before me. Perhaps this is just paranoia from everyone trying to get us.
All this time, I never knew my father had been so close to me, so close to the camp. When I had gone to rescue Jesse, I had passed right by that area, that pocket of space where Dad had been hiding this whole time. The camp is a two-day journey from where he’s been holed up. It’s hard to decide whether that pisses me off or makes me relieved. I still have to work through my own issues now where my Dad is concerned.
