CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE
Taylor
I stare at my father, not knowing how to react.
A part of me wants to run into his arms, while the other part of me wants to scream at him. But nothing comes out of my mouth, a tight ball of emotion stuck in my throat.
Isabel nudges me, and I stumble forward.
Without hesitation, Dad wraps his arms around me, "I'm so glad to see you, kiddo."
I can feel the tears spilling out of my eyes at the familiar hug, and I burrow into his arms, quietly sobbing. I can feel his arms tighten around me and he murmurs, "I'm so glad to see you."
However, as the seconds move by, I'm sent sprawling back to the days of misery when I had discovered that I had been orphaned, not a person in the world to love me or care for me. He put me through the worst kind of hell, leaving me an utter wreck.
I push away from him, my heart pounding, this strange grief building up inside of me.
"Taylor," I can hear the pain in my dad's voice but I refuse to look at him.
