Stopping right before I reach the classroom doorway, I crane my head and listen.
"Who here is familiar with dragons?" Owen Markham asks the class.
I can hear the shuffling of papers and murmurs of confusion in response. I take a step forward, curious about what he could possibly be teaching that involves dragons.
"Well, for those of you who aren't familiar, dragons are creatures of immense power and intelligence," Owen continues. "Legends say they can breathe fire, fly, and hoard treasure. But beyond the myths, dragons have a unique ability that sets them apart from all other creatures."

"What is that ability?" one of the students asks.
"The ability to shapeshift. That's right; dragons can take on the form of any creature they desire. It's a handy skill, to say the least."
I step closer and peek into the room, curious now about where he's going with this.
