Chapter 248 Cursed Mountains(8)

The tree continued to wail as Colin's [Curse of the Burning Soul] ability continued to reek havoc on the tree. The tree's roots started waving frantically in the air and the tree started to emit mist from it's body, trying to douse the flames, but that didn't work. The tree then started to emit a bright green light, trying to get rid of painful flames.

'I need to end this fast.' Colin thought as he looked at his DP, he only has thirty points, just enough to finish the fight in one attack if he aimed it at just the right place.

'That eye will do.' Colin thought looking at the fleshy red eye in the middle of it's trunk. He raced towards the tree while holding out one of the hands. He created a needle in his hand, no thicker than a centimeter, and channelled hellfire into it, turning it into a darker and darker red. The tree angrily lashed it's roots towards him, he slid, flipped and ran across the tentacles, falling many times but got up quickly. The powerful green light has cleared and tree was back in peak condition, with the fleshy eye still in the middle.

"Die." Colin said as he tried to throw the needle, but suddenly, a hidden root whipped out of the ground, cutting off the hand with the needle. Other tentacles whipped up out of the ground and more roots extended from the ground and wrapped around him, squeezing him tightly.

'The irony.' Colin thought as he remembered them doing something similar to Shuma a few days ago. But he smiled widely, showing his fangs.

"But I'm not a stupid undead." Colin said as he manipulated the needle before it could touch the ground, causing it to fly towards the tree and dig into it's eye. The creature wailed in pain once more as it's precious orgain was pierced. Colin locked all his senses onto the hellfire in the needle and made it exploded with force. He took control of the flames and directed them through the interior of the plant, towards the roots of the tree. On any tree, the roots were it's most essential part, so he wagered that's where it's core was and he was right. The tree roots holding it upward were burned and the tree could no longer support itself, causing it to fall to the ground.

"Timbers motherfucker." Colin said as the roots released him in an effort to stop the tree from falling to the ground, but that was a mistake. Colin ran towards the tree as fast as he could and he could see something shining at the bottom of it's roots, causing him to smile. He rushed towards the trees roots, sliding under a root before arriving at the bottom of the tree, which used to be underground. At the bottom, he could see it's core, a large soul crystal the size of bowling ball with rugged edges that looked like a fusion of multiple soul crystals. Infact, some parts of it looked earthy brown, like the ones from a Cavern Mole. Some parts looked like the silver from an Armadillo's soul crystal, others looked like the brown and lime green ones the Subterranean Earth Worms have. But most of the soul crystal looked like a shiny reflective rainbow crystal. And it was stuck in a red fleshy, disgusting patch of flesh and bones.

'Uhh, disgusting.' Colin thought as he grabbed onto the soul crystal and pulled. The tree wailed even more and sent a few roots towards him, which caused it to fall even faster. Colin dug his claws into the flesh, causing blood to splash into his face.

"Uhhhhh, this would have been easier if I had both my hands." He said as he struggled to pull out the crystal. He got the idea to wrap his tail around it and pulled even harder, causing the crystal to come out in a geyser of blood. The tree soon lost its strength and fell to the ground, breaking apart, before it slowly died after a few minutes.

'Finally.' Colin thought tiredly and hurriedly stored the trees soul crystal in his ring, as a cocoon made of demonic miasma wrapped around him and he lost consciousness. A complex red rune wrapped around Colin's cocoon, bringing in even more energy from around the place. The runes sent waves of energy all over the place.
