Chapter 249 Evolutionary Threat

"H-huh, what's going on?" Colin thought as he woke up in a totally dark place with red lines running all over the ground, giving off a faint light. The last thing he remembered was being enveloped in a cocoon and evolving, and he doesn't usually gains consciousness until the evolution process was complete. So, where was he. As he wondered, he suddenly felt a feeling of pure malice being directed towards him and he looked upwards. He could see the darkness reeling and he could see two red eyes staring down at him.

'Puuuny dddemon.' Came a terrible voice from everywhere, that sounded like fingernails scratching against chalkboard, forcing Colin to cover his ears.

"Kehahahahaha!!!!" The voice laughed loudly and Colin could feel vast amounts of powerful demonic energy that made him pale.

"Who are you?" Colin asked

'The worm has a voice.' The voice said, but Colin was not as affected this time.

"You're Mephistopheles aren't you?" Colin said and the darkness around him seemed to come alive and he quickly took a defensive stance.

'It seems you aren't as clueless as I thought, now, surrender your body to me.' The voice said

"Fuck you." Colin said and the voice laughed once more, when suddenly, hands made of darkness appeared. They all headed towards him and Colin quickly crossed his arms. Just as the darkness hands were about to grab him, a translucent blue barrier in the form of a sphere , that looked like a honeycomb, appeared blocking them.

'What the-oh right, the [Mind Shield] trait. I guess it would activate in a situation like this, where my mind is being attacked. But I still don't understand, if this guy is so strong that a Demon King is afraid of him, how can a flimsy barrier like this one stop him. Wait a minute.' Colin thought as his mind flashed back to the name of his unique trait, [Shard of Mephistopheles] and smirked.

"You aren't the real Mephistopheles are you, at least, you aren't entirely him, only a fragment." Colin said and the darkness hands stopped assaulting the barrier for a second. Just as Colin thought Mephistopheles has calmed down and become a bit more reasonable, the darkness hands were surrounded by red, demonic energy and they slammed into the [Mind Shield], causing it to crack.

'That's what I get for getting my hopes up.' Colin thought as he took another defensive stance. The hands broke through the shield and he quickly grabbed onto them as they tried to grab him. He managed to grab one in both hands, but the others grabbed him and tried to pull him out of the shield. His eyes glowed a fierce red and the red lines on the ground glowed. Demonic energy poured into the [Mind Shield] cutting off the hands that were holding him. They dissipated into dark smoke that were absorbed into Colin's body, causing him to cough as they integrated into him.

'Nooooooo.' The voice screamed, causing Colin to cover his ears as he lost consciousness once more.

This message was displayed to all the members of the house of weakness that had already reached level 15, and were just waiting on Colin. All the werewolves were currently cocooned, along with a few imps including Patrick, a few of the spiderkins and of course Alice.

"Are they evolving Papa?" Calliope asked when she saw Alice get enveloped in a black cocoon.

"Yes Calliope, they are evolving. It seems like a mass evolution is taking place." Henry said

"I guess there leader wasn't that high leveled. Yet the idiot chose to create his own family." Beatrix said and Lily hissed at her. But she didn't have time for that.

'It seems that you are becoming a tier 5, I guess I can start gaining some levels myself then.' She said and sat on the ground as she started cultivating.
