Chapter 284 Monarch of the Lake(1)

The dragon like creature looked at them furiously, it's long spear like fangs pointed at them menacingly. The serpent manipulated the water of the lake, but hissed in pain the next second as more black smoke rose from it's body.

[Calm down guys, the battle isn't hopeless. That creature can't manipulate the water due to the holy energy and is also constantly losing demonic energy, we can win this.] Castiel said and everyone agreed. The creature groaned in pain and all of them jumped into action, dragging their weary bodies. They were not fully healed from their previous battles, and by far, Castiel was in the best condition out of all of them. He activated his holy weapon and sent a massive tornado towards the dragon, causing it to scream in pain as the water from the lake engulfed it.

The dragon roared pitifully and Castiel smirked, as a large cloud of black mist was eminated from the creature's body.

[Castiel, something's wrong, get away from it.] Synthia warned and Castiel immediately put some distance between himself and the creature. The cloud of black mist spread over the lake and the angel quickly put some distance between the mist. Suddenly, a powerful blast of water streamed towards Castiel and quickly blocked with his glaive, but was sent flying a few meters across the surface. Suddenly, a wave of black water surged towards and all of them could feel the danger that it presented.

"Dive!!!" Synthia shouted and quickly dove under the water and swam. The rest of the angels followed, but they were much slower. The black wave crashed into the surface and the black water spread even below the surface. Synthia and the others were engulfed by the water and they could feel their skin burning and they wanted to scream, but they would drown if they did. Their skin peeled off, revealing the red flesh and crimson blood beneath that was also being corroded.

Suddenly, they felt an immense force pass by them and the black water erupted to the surface. Synthia suddenly felt herself being held by someone and being bought back to the surface.

"Synthia, are you alright?" Castiel asked and Synthia slowly nodded her head. Castiel looked around and he could see the black water disappearing as it was being consumed by the [Holy Territory], allowing the others to float to the surface and gasp for air. Castiel looked at the dragon and shook as he saw a terrible image, that entire area of the lake was covered in black water and rising black mist, and in it's midst, two terribly glowing red eyes could be seen, like two cruel crimson sun searing into his flesh. There was nothing but pure malice and rage within those eyes and Castiel gritted his teeth.

'This bastard is nowhere near as scary as that bastard Colin. And unlike that bastard, this thing is running on a timer. The holy energy is still burning away this creatures demonic energy, so all I have to do is wait it out until it can't regenerate anymore. But...' He thought and looked at the other Angels.

'I can't stay here and I can't run either. That thing will probably try and destroy the [Holy Core], if we did and they are too weak to fly away.' Castiel thought and released Synthia before flying in the air. He wrapped himself in wind and flew towards the dragon. The dragon roared terribly and a jet of water flew towards him, and he quickly dodged. He entered the dark mist cloud and his vision instantly went black, but his winds kept the mist from touching his skin. Neither [Aura Vision] or [Angelic Eyes] worked in the mist, but he didn't need them to. He swung his glaive and a large portion of the mist was cleared allowing to see once more...before his vision was covered by a pillar of black water. Castiel quickly tried to escape the pillar of water that rose from the surface of the lake, but as he was almost out, he felt severe pain from his back and heard a loud chomping sound.

The serpentine dragon rose from the lake through the pillar and managed to bite off Castiel's wings as well as bite a huge chunk out of his back, before falling back into the lake. It looked gleefully as the annoying pest fell towards the lake, weakened and injured. It knew it wasn't in a better condition as it's DP was nearly finished and it would have to leave the lake. But it's pride... it's pride would never allow it to run with it's tail between its legs. Watching it's prey fall after it's wings were clipped, it couldn't help but be gleeful and it quickly rose from the water to devour it's prey.

"Die, you fucker." Castiel roared as he faced the creature and his blade glowed with brilliant golden like.
