Chapter 7

It didn’t take that long once Ba Yihan was out of the room to realize who he was going with to fight this monster at the coastal city.

He had packed his bag filled with necessities, including extra clothes, hair clips, water, and tea herbs, since he wouldn’t allow anyone else to make his tea. Every time he did, they would always ruin it. His mother had just said he had a picky taste, and that he needed to grow out of it. That had yet to happen.

At the front gates, there weren’t many people there. The sun was ready to set, and yueliang time was ready to begin. Which meant, as rule 392 said; You must be in your room when the sun disappears and yueliang time begins. Ba Yihan liked that rule, so he remembered it. That meant that he was able to go to his room, and be lazy where no one can judge him. Isn’t that paradise?

Tai Xinbing stared out past the gates. Ba Yihan recognized him from the ceremony that welcomed each of the leading families of the four provinces. The Ba family, the Tai family, and the Yue family into Liu Bai He Clan’s Raining Moon Hill. Tai Xinbing was the only one that came from Yintao Leng Empire as the leading family. Instead, they sent two representatives with him. He was the middle child, with his sister not allowed into Raining Moon Hill, and his brother already at a high level.

But, Tai Xinbing wasn’t the only one there. There was also someone from Anjing De Hua Sect and Liu Bai He Clan that were both the same level as Ba Yihan. But, there was another man. One that Ba Yihan had recognized instantly.

The famous and stunning Wo Huangchun!

Ba Yihan knew his elder brother was more than right about the soon-to-be leader of Liu Bai He Clan! He was absolutely beautiful, even Ba Yihan had to agree. The LV. 3, and middle child, of the Wo family had the family’s chocolate eyes and outreached nose. His eyes slimmed at the ends with lashes that were long enough to blow winds stronger than a pinyin player!

He was speaking to the disciple of Anjing De Hua, who had his hands crossed. He appeared angry. Did everyone at Anjing De Hua Sect act angry all the time? Yue Taishun, now this disciple.

But, like the great and wonderful leader Wo Huangchun was, he didn’t dare raise his voice and looked intently at the disciple that complained to him. Ba Yihan shuffled forward, standing beside Tai Xinbing and looked at the two speaking with each other.

Unlike the other disciples at Liu Bai He Clan, Wo Huangchun had gold on his clothing instead of white, that matched the blue perfectly. Whirls of gold were painted on the edges of the hems that drifted above the ground, showing off his white fabric boots.

“Ba Yihan, nice of you to accompany Tai Xinbing on this trip to Chun Hai.” Wo Huangchun said with a grin, greeting Ba Yihan politely. What’s up with that smile?! The Wo family are supposed to be mean and strict! I just got scolded for having a bag on the ground!

Ba Yihan bowed in front of Wo Huangchun. “Master Wo Huangchun, thank you for allowing me to come on this trip.” Ba Yihan responded. I could be sleeping right now! Dreaming about being mediocre!

Wo Huangchun laughed with a hand to his chest, his dark brown hair pulled behind him in a towering ponytail. “Of course. You are all close to becoming LV. 7, which means if you can defeat this creature successfully, you all will be a rank higher than before. However, do not fret if you are not able to kill this creature.” Wo Huangchun’s eyes started on Ba Yihan, before looking at the four disciples from the four different provinces.

Somehow, this felt like a family reunion of sorts.

Tai Xinbing cleared his throat, and all eyes were on him in an instant. Not that he minded, since his eyes were only on Wo Huangchun. “What information do we have on this creature?” The disciple in orange and red questioned. Wo Huangchun smiled proudly.

“Great question. We don’t have much. People of Chun Hai have been dying once every month. There is a body at the center of the city ready to be viewed by you all. Remember your training and knowledge of the creatures and their weaknesses. Understand?” Wo Huangchun’s voice changed slightly, to be more worried and strict at the same time. But, it was never like Wo Anxuan’s voice in the slightest. I wonder if he gets scolded for being too nice. Not that I mind it! We need more nice Wo generations!

Ba Yihan couldn’t help but dream. A wondering corpse! What if it’s a wandering corpse! They only need to be fed once a month, and feasts on human bones! Which means I can meet a wandering corpse!

“Now,” Wo Huangchun started once again, raising his hand slightly to call over the carriage commander, with a carriage in place. “You four will be divided into groups. Ba Yihan with Tai Xinbing. Ru Zhaozhi with Yue Mingkun.” Wo Huangchun commanded, and gestured to the carriage.

“This is a serious assignment. I wish you all the best, and may the Jade Emperor pave the righteous path for you all.” That was the last thing Wo Huangchun said before the curtain opened, to reveal four seats with candles hanging on the wall and a small amount of silver coins for their trip. Ba Yihan looked at the carriage, and then at the disciples.

Yue Mingkun, the disciple from Anjing De Hua Sect, was the first to speak. “We should leave now, for I worry another person will die due to our patience.” He said, before stepping onto the wooden floor and sitting down in the farthest seat.

Ba Yihan was the last to sit down. He was busy looking at Wo Huangchun as the young man walked off, the moon making his face shimmer. Is it just me, or does something feel off? Ba Yihan wavered that feeling of unsettledness and stepped into the lit up carriage, sliding the curtain shut to hide from the cold world.
