Chapter 6

For the few weeks of being at Liu Bai He Clan, Ba Yihan did seem to learn a lot about the leading family. However, his elder brother was the one that taught him the most he needed to know.

Wo Anxuan was the eldest, and was near the end of her aging days. She was born to Madam Wo Aiping, and she was the one that started a spiraling trend amongst the newest arrivals of the Wo family thirty-nine years ago. She seemed like she was never not in her prime, and was always a stunning beauty.

Wo Huangchun, much younger, was also a stunning beauty. With slim features and a warm smile at all times. Ba Jinhao, Ba Yihan’s older brother, had told him that Wo Huangchun was practically god’s work. Though Ba Yihan had never met the man, his judgements must be right. For being 36, Wo Huangchun was said to look like he was 15 once again. Not only that, but was said to have the kindest personality. That was why most of the population was excited for Wo Huangchun to take over as the new shishu shuoshi, master of the arts, of Liu Bai He Clan.

The last brother, and the youngest, was Wo Yijun.. Wo. Yi. Jun. Ba Yihan still can’t forget what his other, and eldest brother had said to him. “Wo Yijun is someone I would look out for. Even his siblings know he can be a true pain.”

Ba Yihan wouldn’t consider himself a bad cultivator when it came to rules. He said he didn’t like them, not that he spoke out about them. But he did follow the rules. Most of the time, at least. Stiff, strict, emotionless. Those are the three words used to describe the youngest child of the Wo family. He looked nothing like his father, or the rest of the family. Yet it was the presence of diversity that made him so popular. Though, as Ba Jinhao said. “His popularity has lowered due to his past. Now his brother seems much more famous than him. Doesn’t make any of the Wo’s any less beautiful.”

“Ba Yihan.” His name was spoken by Wo Anxuan again, and he looked up at her. He cleared his throat, and smiled at the lady who stared back, emotionless. Jeez, I was just thinking. It’s not my fault your clan doesn’t like people who are rational.. Ba Yihan lowered his upper body for another bow. Damn, this is getting nerve-racking..

Wo Anxuan didn’t show her disappointment, nor did she show any positive emotion. She looked down at the wet wood. “My brother said to meet with him and the disciple from Yintao Leng Empire at the front gates. Horses will be assigned.” She answered, before turning away. Ba Yihan groaned and rubbed the blond strand out his face, not wanting to be bothered by the piece of speckled hair.

“Madam Wo, I was wondering if you know exactly who I will be fighting alongside?” Ba Yihan asked, with a hopeful expression. Wo Anxuan gently shook her head no, and her hair flowed with it in a magical way, as if they were under water. “I am afraid I do not. But don’t worry, your partner will be on the same level. If anything goes wrong, the closest LV.4 disciples will come to your rescue.”

There was another odd thing about the disciples at Liu Bai He Clan, as well as any other provinces for cultivation. The levels. You began at LV.10, which is the weakest level. Ba Yihan was LV. 8, which was a normal level for most disciples to be at. Ba Yihan was more than accepting of his LV. 8 status. After all, it was perfect for him.

Everything after LV. 5, would be considered at a stage where their cores were already formed, and meridians were perfectly intact. If you were a LV. 5 or lower, you were practically immortal.

However, there was a drawback. Just because you were LV. 5 and fighting a LV. 8 demon does not mean you will win. After all, the levels simply give a number for how strong your fighting style will be on its own. Not against an enemy. That being said, a LV. 4 could only be a certain number of people. Most likely higher ups in each province. After LV. 5, you get boosted. The leading families or higher ups all have LV. 5 or higher rankings. Which is why they are so powerful in the first place.

So for the youngest son of the leading family of the Tiancha Dynasty not be over LV. 5 was more than just embarrassing. How disappointed must people be in him. But, it’s fine. Ba Jinhao is LV. 5, and he is going to be the new leader of the Tiancha Dynasty. I’m happily rooting for him…. On the sidelines that is.

Ba Yihan had a slight height difference, but nonetheless Wo Anxuan still looked scary from where she stood. She was shorter by a couple of centimeters, at most. Which was made obvious when Wo Anxuan turned her head to look at Ba Yihan’s ruffled covers, desk that sat his folded clothing, and a bag on the floor, emptied out. “Rule 683. All rooms must be kept clean at all times. You are new, so I won’t say anything to my brothers. But understand leniency is not a given.” She said stiffly, her face strict in that way she always held it.

They all look like that….. The disciples of Liu Bai He Clan all look more soulless than wandering corpses do. Damn…

Ba Yihan glanced at his room, identified the messes, and then stepped back to bow once again to Wo Anxuan. “Thank you, Madam Wo.” He answered her damning eyes with another bow. Wo Anxuan was silent, and all that was heard was the sound of her footsteps as she stepped away from the door. Ba Yihan only stood up straight when her footsteps did not echo in the halls anymore.

He reached for his door, and shut it tightly, before turning to the mess that was his room. IT WASN’T EVEN MESSY!!!???
