The room feels charged with an electric intensity, a palpable tension swirling around us. Dr. Mead’s response hangs in the air, a tantalizing mystery waiting to be unraveled. I meet her gaze, searching for any sign of doubt or disbelief, but her expression remains shrouded in enigmatic confidence.

As Liam rises from the couch, still dazed by the revelations he’s just experienced, I scoot next to him. “Are you alright?” I ask, reaching for his hand.

He drapes an arm around me and plants a light peck on my cheek. “I’ll be fine… it’s just… too incredible.” He gazes at me and brushes a finger on my cheek. “I’m just happy to know I wasn’t the one who broke your heart… my worst fears are over.” He smiles.

“How did you know? I wasn’t able to recall who did what… but if Hannah wanted to forget about it, then maybe we should, too.”

“Yeah… this is our first life together, Liv… it’s a clean slate, I guess.”

I turn to Dr. Mead, seeking validation.
