Lu Xi was born with a silver spoon and, for all purposes, should have had a happy life full of pampering, and for 16 years he did, but with the addition of a new member to the family, his good fortune ended. Thus began the second half of his life's purpose, which was to be a foil to the brilliance of another. Where one was spoiled and selfish, the other was kind and understanding. Where one was full of greed, the other was generous and kind-hearted. 

However, after losing the love of his life and his own on the same day because of the so-called kind-hearted white lotus, Lu Xi was unwilling to let go, and his hatred continued to rise. When he was given the chance to get revenge, with the bonus of teaching other protagonists a lesson, he was more than happy to do it. 

He never acted like a villain, but he would gladly do it now and teach these protagonists a lesson. Lu Xi had always believed in justice and fairness, but the betrayal he experienced shattered his faith in justice or fairness. The pain of losing his loved ones fueled his determination to expose the true nature of these supposedly virtuous protagonists, revealing the darkness lurking beneath their pristine facades.
